Enzo Carbone Prodes Italia CEO When we launched Milano Jewelry Week in 2019, we had a clear vision: to create an international event in Milan capable of bringing together the many facets of the jewelry world, celebrating its excellence, and fostering connections between creativity, culture, and business. Today, as we reach our sixth edition, that vision continues to guide us, enriched each year by new projects, collaborations, and opportunities. Milano Jewelry Week has grown into an international event celebrating jewelry in all its expressions: from high jewelry to contemporary research, from design to traditional goldsmithing, from precious gemstones to new technologies, and the experimentation of emerging generations.

From October 20 to 26, 2026, Milan will welcome over 400 exhibitors from more than 60 countries, showcasing over 8,000 jewelry creations across more than 50 events throughout the city. These figures reflect the international scale the project has achieved and, above all, the extraordinary diversity of cultures, perspectives, and creative languages that come together during the event, year after year.

For me, this diversity is one of the most fascinating aspects of Milano Jewelry Week. Every creation carries a story, a tradition, and a personal vision. Every encounter can inspire new ideas, collaborations, and perspectives. Our goal is to continue building an environment where these connections can emerge, develop, and create lasting value.

The event unfolds through a rich program involving some of Milan's most prestigious venues and numerous local organizations. At Palazzo Bovara, Artistar Jewels presents over 500 creations by more than 200 artists and brands from 56 countries, offering a journey through the languages of contemporary jewelry, artistic research, and experimentation. Alongside this exhibition, the Talent Show brings together international schools and academies from different countries, providing a platform for the creativity and visions of the next generation. At Palazzo Serbelloni, The Jewelry Hub welcomes 48 selected brands from 23 countries, presenting collections ranging from high and fine jewelry to contemporary design. It is a setting dedicated to discovering new excellence, meeting the industry's leading figures, and developing professional and commercial relationships. The recognition of The Jewelry Hub as an international trade fair by Regione Lombardia represents an important milestone in our journey of growth and international expansion. From October 20 to 26, the Experiential Journey program brings together boutiques, ateliers, showrooms, workshops, and galleries, transforming Milan into a citywide itinerary of experiences dedicated to jewelry. Collection presentations, workshops, visits to jewelry-making studios, encounters with designers and artisans, installations, and exclusive events invite visitors to explore the world of jewelry from ever-changing perspectives.

Completing the program, the MJW Talks, hosted by Sotheby's Milan, offer opportunities for discussion and insight into the topics shaping the industry, bringing together professionals, experts, and leading figures from the international jewelry scene.

For the 2026 edition, we have chosen to invest further in developing initiatives and tools that support the growth of our community.

We have strengthened the Buyer Program, expanding our international scouting activities and creating new opportunities for exhibitors to connect with buyers, retailers, and industry professionals. We want the relationships established during the event to evolve into lasting collaborations and new opportunities to international markets. We have also launched the MJW Observatory, a project dedicated to analyzing developments within the industry through the direct involvement of our exhibitors. Its initial findings reveal a dynamic landscape characterized by confidence in future growth, a focus on international expansion, investment in communication, and an increasingly dialogue between artisanal savoir-faire, technological innovation, and sustainability. For us, the Observatory represents a valuable tool for understanding the needs of our community and guiding future initiatives. The Milano Jewelry Week Awards have also been renewed, with redefined categories and the involvement of industry professionals, galleries, buyers, and members of the press. Through awards and dedicated initiatives, we aim to celebrate talent, quality, research, and innovation, offering participants new opportunities for visibility and international development. The Awarding Night on October 25, at the Auditorium di Milano, will be one of the highlights of this edition. All of this is made possible by a network of relationships built over the years with institutions, trade associations, schools, galleries, companies, and international partners.

The patronage of the Municipality of Milan and Assogemme, together with the collaboration of INHORGENTA, Assamblage Contemporary Jewellery School, Associazione Orafa Lombarda, A.N.T.I.C.O. – National Association for the Protection of the Gold Sector, and WJJ – Women Jewelers Japan, provides invaluable support for the continued growth of MJW, strengthening its connections within the industry and its international reach. Milan is the city where we chose to establish the event, recognizing its ability to bring together fashion, design, craftsmanship, culture, and business. During MJW, this spirit comes to life through encounters, experiences, and itineraries that engage the entire city, making Milan the setting and protagonist of an international celebration of jewelry. Looking to the future, my ambition is for MJW to continue growing as a point of reference for everyone who creates, produces, communicates, and appreciates jewelry. A place where we can celebrate the industry's wealth of knowledge and expertise, support emerging talents, discover new perspectives, and build relationships that endure over time. I invite you to experience this edition with curiosity, to be inspired by the creations, meet the people behind them, and discover Milan through the experiences we envisioned for you. Welcome to Milano Jewelry Week 2026!

Designing Certainty: Combining Digital Tools with Physical Technology in Jewelry Retail [EN] Date and time: 25 Oct | 3 pm/4 pm Anne Edwards | Director | Founder of Co-Creative Jewellers Ltd & Edwards Jewellery This talk explores how recent jewelry technology has largely centered on digital solutions, ring builder models, apps, and online visualization tools that make discovery faster, broaden choice, and help customers make more informed decisions. Yet jewelry remains a physical, emotional, and high-stakes purchase, and many of the questions that shape confidence cannot be fully answered on a screen. Scale on the hand, comfort, proportion, sparkle, and the sense of whether a piece truly feels right can often make the difference between browsing and buying. The talk examines where digital tools genuinely excel, where their limitations emerge, and how removing touch from the experience can introduce uncertainty into the decision-making process. It then considers how physical technology can be reintroduced at the retail counter, alongside existing digital systems, to create a hybrid approach that improves clarity, reduces perceived risk, and supports faster, more confident decisions.

Buds and cells: a dialogue to be verified, a project to be supported. [IT+EN] Date and time: 26 Oct | 11 am/12 pm Dr. Beatrice Barzaghi | Designer, Gemologist (GIA G.G.), Goldsmith - Prof. Gianluca Martino Tartaglia | Full Professor of Dental Sciences at the University of Milan,

Medical Director at IRCCS Fondazione Ca’ Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico di Milano - Prof. Marica Orioli | Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Milan" Beatrice Barzaghi presents an exploratory observation, developed with Prof. Gianluca Tartaglia and colleagues from the University of Milan and Policlinico di Milano. 17 different gemstones were placed in contact with tumor cells cultured in laboratory to observe whether, and in what way, their presence might be associated with changes in cell viability. Prof. Marica Orioli will explain how the experiment was conducted, outlining why these initial results do not allow any conclusions to be drawn, but suggest new questions for further investigation. Dr. Beatrice Barzaghi discusses the journey that led her to propose this research and the knowledge, data, and experiments that would be needed to transform a curiosity into a scientifically testable question.

Diversamente Noi: Le persone oltre ai ruoli [IT] Date and time: 26 Oct | 12 pm/1 pm Elena Schiavi | CEO e Founder di Studio Tiss - Morena Fabbri | Head designer e Co-founder - Mapi Danna | Scrittrice e Autrice - Marta Fabbri | Head of Marketing&Communication e Co-founder Who can tell a company’s story most authentically? Marlù answers this question through its editorial project “Diversamente Noi”: not through those who observe the brand from the outside, but through those who experience it every day. Employees become the authors of the brand’s story rather than its testimonials. Entrusting the narrative to real people means giving up a degree of control over the brand’s in exchange for something more valuable: credibility. The three founders explore this approach and explain why, in a market saturated with carefully constructed personas, the voices that can still stand out are those of people who experience the brand every day, without pretense. Twenty-five years after its founding, Marlù continues to embrace the same distinctive narrative identity that has always defined the brand.

Gioielli e celebrità: le gemme che hanno fatto sognare il mondo [IT] Date and time: 26 Oct | 2 pm/3 pm Dr.ssa Ludovica Faldi | Gemmologa IGI e FEEG e vice responsabile di laboratorio, Istituto Gemmologico Italiano Some jewels seem destined to tell stories of power. They have passed through crowns, dynasties, royal courts, and prestigious collections, becoming true icons over time. As the world changed, new protagonists emerged alongside royalty, and the red carpet became a contemporary stage for luxury and celebrity. This talk traces the journey of some of history’s most celebrated gemstones, from legendary diamonds in royal collections to jewels worn by icons of cinema, music, and fashion. Yet it is more than a journey through jewelry history: each gemstone reveals an unexpected gemological story. The Hope Diamond possesses an invisible characteristic that helps explain the secret behind its blue color, while the Dresden Green offers insight into the world of natural green diamonds. The Black Prince’s Ruby conceals an identity entirely different from what its name suggests. Modern gemological analysis of Napoleon III’s crown revealed that some stones once believed to be emeralds were actually imitations, while the Grand Sapphire of Louis XIV demonstrates how scientific research can reshape the understanding of a gemstone’s provenance. The journey ultimately reaches the modern queens of the red carpet, from Audrey Hepburn to Lady Gaga and Beyoncé, connected by the extraordinary Tiffany Yellow Diamond.

The Setup Test: What Screenwriting Can Teach Jewelry About Being Unforgettable [EN] Date and time: 26 Oct | 3 pm/4 pm Nastya Ivlieva | Founder of Lostinjewels - Beatriz Biagi | Jewelry design consultant and gemologist A principle originating in theater more than a century ago has become part of modern screenwriting: if a detail is introduced, it must serve a purpose later in the story. Otherwise, it should not be there. Nastya Ivlieva, founder of Lostinjewels, applies this principle, together with two others drawn from cinema, to jewelry, exploring what makes a piece memorable. Beatriz Biagi, jewelry design consultant and gemologist, examines the same principles from a design perspective, considering how they are expressed through choices of form, material, and process. Through examples from film and jewelry design, the talk explores three principles of storytelling and their connection to memorable jewelry. Toward the end of the session, audience members will also have the opportunity to bring their own pieces into conversation.
