ewelry has always been part of our history and, like history itself, has never ceased to evolve. It moves across eras, cultures, and languages, absorbing social transformations, technical innovations, and new sensibilities. Today, more than ever, it can be both ornament and sculpture, an art object and a form of identity, an expression of craftsmanship and the result of experimentation. It is precisely in its ability to transform without losing its essential nature that its extraordinary contemporaneity lies. Founded in 2012 and developed by Prodes Italia, Artistar Jewels emerged from this vision and, over the years, has established itself as one of the leading international projects dedicated to contemporary jewelry. In 2026, it returns to Palazzo Bovara, in the heart of Milan, bringing together more than 200 artists and brands from 56 countries, with over 500 pieces of jewelry. An international creative community that brings together different cultures, generations, and approaches, creating a dialogue between diverse experiences united by the desire to experiment and to give materials ever-new forms, meanings, and possibilities. Artistar Jewels is not simply an exhibition. It is a platform that creates opportunities for encounters between creativity, research, culture, and professional practice, offering space to established artists, independent designers, brands, and emerging talents. The rooms of Palazzo Bovara thus become a place in which to observe the plurality of contemporary jewelry: from wearable works to sculptural forms, from material research to the reinterpretation of artisanal techniques, and to creations in which jewelry crosses into the realms of design and art. This plurality reflects a sector undergoing profound transformation, in which tradition and innovation are not opposed to one another but increasingly move forward together. 6
FOR MJW 2026, THE JEWELRY OBSERVATORY WAS CREATED TO GATHER DATA DIRECTLY FROM THE EVENT’S EXHIBITORS WITH THE AIM OF PROVIDING A MORE INFORMED UNDERSTANDING OF THE SECTOR, IDENTIFYING ITS TRENDS, AND EXPLORING ITS POSSIBLE FUTURE DIRECTIONS.
What emerges is a landscape in which craftsmanship continues to play a central role, while new technologies and digital tools are progressively entering creative processes. CAD design and 3D printing thus stand alongside established traditional techniques, creating new possibilities for experimentation and construction. At the same time, research extends to materials: alongside metals and precious stones, ceramics, glass, resins, fibers, paper, recycled materials, and other unconventional solutions coexist. Material thus becomes an integral part of the narrative. It is not merely the medium through which a piece of jewelry takes shape, but contributes to defining its identity, perception, and message. The growing attention to recycling, ethical sourcing, traceability, and sustainability also reflects a broader change in the way jewelry is designed, produced, and interpreted. It is within this context that Artistar Jewels establishes itself as a privileged observatory of jewelry in all its nuances. Its strength lies not only in its ability to bring together and present works, but also in using them to shape an interpretation of a language that is constantly evolving. Each edition makes it possible to recognize new directions and, above all, to understand how difficult it is to contain jewel-
INTRODUCTION
ARTISTAR JEWELS 2026 ry within a single definition. Jewelry can be a wearable object, a micro-sculpture, an exploration of material, an artisanal gesture, a personal symbol, or a cultural statement: different forms of the same need—the need to give physical form to an idea. This plurality is accompanied by an international dimension that represents one of the project’s distinctive elements. The different origins of the artists do not merely define a geography, but bring with them different traditions, techniques, sensibilities, and imaginaries. Bringing them together means creating the conditions for an exchange in which individual identities do not dissolve, but instead gain new possibilities for expression and dialogue.
EVERY YEAR, AJ RENEWS ITS COMMITMENT TO DISCOVER AND PROMOTE TALENT THROUGH THE MJW AWARDS, WHICH RECOGNIZE AND CELEBRATE RESEARCH AND CREATIVITY IN THE WORLD OF JEWELRY. THE CONTEST THUS BECOMES PART OF A BROADER PROJECT: TO GIVE VISIBILITY TO NEW IDEAS AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE EVOLUTION OF A LANGUAGE THAT CONTINUES TO CHANGE.
This volume was created to extend that experience beyond the rooms of Palazzo Bovara. It is intended not simply as documentation of an exhibition, but as a means of exploring the landscape of contemporary jewelry in its many expressions. Within its pages, artists, visions, materials, and techniques come together; the journey moves from the most experimental research to the me-
mory of craftsmanship, from the sculptural dimension to wearable art, from personal stories to the different cultural matrices that nourish creativity. The catalog thus becomes an invitation to discovery, a reading experience capable of guiding the eye through a universe in which jewelry continually takes on new forms. A selection of works to observe, but also of ideas through which to question the present. To understand contemporary jewelry ultimately means observing the ways in which our relationship with beauty, material, the body, and identity changes. It means recognizing how each generation can attribute new meanings to an ancient object, transforming it once again through the lens of its own time. It is in this continuous transformation that Artistar Jewels finds its reason for being. For more than a decade, the project has brought together and presented on the international stage the voices of an ever-growing creative community, offering them a space in which their research can be seen, recognized, and connected with new possibilities. Each work becomes a perspective, each material a possibility, each page a trace of this journey. Because jewelry continues to change, yet preserves intact its most precious ability: to give form to who we are, to tell the story of the time through which we are living, and, through creativity, to anticipate what we may yet imagine.

01. THE BALANCE OF THE DEEP NECKLACE At the heart of The Breath of the Deep collection lies The Balance of the Deep, exploring balance as the force that sustains the rhythm of life. Two fish move toward one another in an eternal circular flow, embodying opposing yet complementary forces. Their continuous movement reflects the delicate equilibrium through which life endures where contrast becomes connection, and opposing energies become part of a greater whole. If breath begins life, balance is what allows it to continue.

02. THE BALANCE OF THE DEEP RING While life is shaped by forces in constant motion, The Balance of the Deep ring turns the search for balance inward. Beneath the customcut stone, two fish circle a central starfish, their opposing yet complementary movement reflecting the forces we carry within ourselves. At the heart of this movement lies a stil center — a reminder that balance is not the absence of change, but the ability to find our own center within it. Worn on the hand, the piece becomes a reminder that the power to create balance is in our own hands. Perhaps the deepest balance we search for is the one within ourselves.

01. "VOWEL COLORS DAMSON" DIAMOND BROOCH Emerging like the first breath of a spoken vowel, the "Damson" diamond brooch inhabits the threshold between silence and sound. Its soft chromatic volume suggests a voice before becoming language, while the precious frame gently contains an ephemeral vibration. More than an ornament, it is a fragment of speech translated into color, a visual resonance inviting us to imagine words not as letters, but as luminous forms shaped by breath, rhythm and emotion. 02. "VOWEL COLORS ASTER PURPLE" RING This masterpiece the "Aster Purple" ring becomes a small sanctuary where a vowel takes physical form. The translucent surface captures the fragile nature of sound, while the precious structure preserves what would otherwise vanish into air. It transforms the fleeting act of speaking into a lasting presence, suggesting that every voice carries an invisible landscape of color. A quiet meditation on memory, resonance and the emotional architecture of language.

CANARI SELECTED BY BLOSSOM BRASIL AGENCY | Canari, founded by the second-generation jeweller Ana Carolina de Moraes Reut, shapes a story of creation and transformation, told in 18K gold. Ana takes inspiration from bioengineering in nature, precise architectural solutions, Brazilian biodiversity and cultural heritage. Canari presents the Airiness collection expressing the essence of the brand in four pillars of its existence: lightness, presence, Brazilianness and freedom.
01. AETHER / LIGHTNESS In the beginning was chaos, a formless drifting universe of raw energy. Out of the ancient, obscure disorder, creation exhales its first, purest element: absolute Lightness. Woven from delicate threads of gold, this dome ring mimics an openwork nest, capturing the weightless grace of a dream. It is an architectural whisper upon a finger - intricate, yet airy, transforming solid gold into a sculpture of pure light.

ESCALA CONFÍN BY GIANFRANCO ZOFFOLI Gianfranco Zoffoli, jewelry designer and goldsmith (Yannz&Co), fuses technology with classical goldsmithing to create pieces at the intersection of art and design. For him, high jewelry is one of the few objects human beings never discard—permanent, invaluable, inherited; an act of cultural resistance against the ephemeral. This project translates his reflection on Chile's geology and extremes into two sculptural high jewelry pieces, headed to Milano Jewelry Week 2026.
01. BETWEEN DENSITY & ORE Between Density and Ore is the Patagonia made ring: not the emptiness of the desert but a world that is full—ice, water, forest, stone, everything alive and layered—where the human being, immersed, belongs to something larger from within. That density is the piece. It begins in chrysocolla—raw stone where minerals are born entangled—and folds inward through white gold and patinated copper to a white diamond: the human, held inside the living world. The scale of the south, turned inward.

GIL SHOSHANI WOODSTONE This project explores tension between raw material and residue, advocating sustainability. Craftsmanship was integral to Gil since childhood in his fathers workshop. As a jewelry designer he sought the correct material for his creative process. In waste bins, sawdust mounds revealed themselves as miniature cliffs symbolizing the passage of time. Encapsulating this moment gave rise to WoodStone. Goldsmithing connects material and body, bridging environmental responsibility with high-end pieces.
01.
RING The ring collection explores a process of construction and discovery. The artist creates raw material masses in varying proportions, applying pressure between layers to shape patterns and textures. Metal rings are embedded directly during casting, allowing material and structure to become one. Once the cast hardens, the excess is carved away, gradually revealing the final form from within and highlighting the material’s unique visual qualities.

This brooch transforms raw crystalline fragments into structured feathers, reflecting how identity is formed through memories, failures, and hopes. 02. THE SPACE BETWEEN Nature is often defined not by what it holds, but by the spaces it leaves behind. Inspired by a transforming leaf, these earrings celebrate the beauty of absence. Fragmented and reassembled, they allow light to pass through, making emptiness part of their form. The spaces created by change, loss, and growth become as meaningful as what remains, suggesting that sometimes what is missing gives meaning to everything that stays.

BRAZIL
JAMMING PAOLA PAZ Founded in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Jamming is an independent jewelry brand created by scientist and designer Paola Paz. Drawing on nature, art, memory and the precision of scientific observation, the brand develops contemporary pieces rich in symbolism and identity. Each jewel is designed by Paola and handcrafted in Minas Gerais by selected goldsmiths, combining Brazilian craftsmanship, refined design and an expressive, distinctive spirit.
01. CLEO EARRING Cleo is imagined as a woman: intuitive, enigmatic and untamed. In the earring, the markings of the jaguar and leopard become an abstract composition that moves with the body, turning wild instinct into delicacy. Smoky quartz lends the piece its veiled light and earthy depth, like a secret held in stone. Cléo is poetry in motion—free, magnetic and quietly powerful, embodying a femininity shaped by instinct, mystery and refinement.

02. TERRAR BROOCH/PENDANT In Terrar, a flower and a mushroom emerge intertwined from the same imaginary root. Air and light pass through the flower’s open contours, while the mushroom remains grounded in the earth’s hidden fertility. The jewel explores the tension between lightness and structure, movement and roots. Worn as a brooch or pendant, its transformation extends its meaning: identity can change form without losing its essence.

As both a painter and a jewelry artist, she has always been fascinated by the emotional language of color and its power to transform how we feel. Every shade tells a story, awakens memories and creates connection. This cuff bracelet is a celebration of creativity, joy, and the endless inspiration found in the vibrant palette of life.

The circular element symbolizes the Earth, reminding us that, like migratory birds, we are never meant to remain where we no longer feel like we belong. Soft shades of pink reflect warmth, joy, and the artists deep love for birds. A piece about trusting your inner compass, embracing change and finding the place where your spirit feels truly free.

01. GIRLHOOD — THE RADEN GARDEN A childhood memory of gathering white clover in a meadow and weaving it into a flower crown. This necklace transforms that memory into a contemporary jewel through raden and Togidashi Maki-e. Night-glowing shell creates the leaves, while platinum and diamonds form the flowers. Each element follows the curve of the décolleté, creating an elegant garland-like silhouette. Japanese traditional techniques are elevated into high jewelry, combining craftsmanship, precious materials and sculptural beauty.

ver the years, Artistar Jewels has developed a path capable of extending beyond the boundaries of the exhibition to become a point of reference for contemporary jewelry. Its strength lies in its ability to connect artists with the organizations and professionals called upon to recognize, support, and accompany them over time. It is a journey made up of opportunities that open up and new directions that take shape, contributing to the expansion of contemporary jewelry toward an increasingly international dimension.
It is in this ability to create connections that one of the project’s deepest essences lies. Each edition brings with it the possibility of bringing different worlds closer together, creating dialogue between experiences and expertise, and establishing that passage between the work and those capable of recognizing its value and potential. An active bridge between artists and the professional world, where research can find new interlocutors and an idea can become the beginning of a new project. Within this context, galleries play an essential role: they are the places where visions take shape and find continuity, and where the work of artists can connect with institutions, collectors, and new audiences. The 2026 edition celebrates this dimension through the presence of an international network of partner galleries, brought together in a dedicated area within Artistar Jewels to present a selection of works by their artists. A combination of different geographies, experiences, and curatorial sensibilities that reflects the richness of contemporary jewelry as an increasingly open and experimental field, capable of crossing languages and cultures.

From Estonia, A-Galerii brings together a community of more than one hundred jewelry artists and represents an important point of reference for Estonian art jewelry. From Iran, Aria Gallery, founded in Tehran and active for over thirty years in the promotion of modern and contemporary Iranian art, has developed a section dedicated to contemporary jewellery since 2016. From Thailand, EURUS Gallery creates a dialogue between contemporary jewelry, fine jewelry, and art, complementing its exhibition activities with opportunities for education and exchange. In Seoul, Gallery O, founded by artist Miwha Oh, creates a bridge between the international scene and Korean talent, while Frangipani Gallery, in Hungary, explores jewelry as a narrative form through its exhibition activities and international initiatives such as Inflow. In Hong Kong, Literati Artspace intertwines contemporary research with Chinese cultural tradition, working with practices ranging from wood sculpture to lacquer, cloisonné, and goldsmithing. In Oslo, Maralkunst instead places the personal dimension of jewelry at the center, understanding it as an expression of identity, memory, and culture, embodied in the concept of “Wear Your Story.”
GALLERIES & NET WORKS
CREATING CONNECTIONS Italy also contributes to this narrative through organizations that have made research the core of their activities. Galleria Carlo Lucidi brings extensive experience in promoting research through exhibitions, open calls, and international collaborations, while Thereza Pedrosa Gallery, founded in Asolo and now also active in The Hague, builds an international selection grounded in research and curatorial practice. Alongside the galleries is Blossom Brasil, a Brazilian organization founded and led by Bianca Zaramella, representing a complementary professional expertise: a creative consultancy and agency specializing in Strategic Communication, Creative Direction, and PR / Fashion Communication for jewelry, fashion, and lifestyle. Its work, particularly focused on promoting Brazilian brands and designers, strengthens, for the third consecutive year within Artistar Jewels, the dialogue between Brazilian creativity and the international contemporary jewelry scene.
Distant worlds, different approaches, stories that meet: it is in their proximity that one of the defining strengths of Artistar Jewels takes shape. Each organization brings with it a particular way of observing, selecting, and supporting research, contributing to a landscape in which jewelry can find new interpretations and new places in which to be welcomed. From this same openness to encounter come the Gallery Awards, the contest in which partner galleries are invited to turn their attention to the works and artists presented, taking on the role of selectors and interpreters of research that, through their recognition, can open the door to new opportunities for contact and collaboration; marking the beginning of a path that continues beyond the event and transforms visibility into a concrete opportunity. The selection of international galleries is therefore not simply a collection of participants, but evidence of a dimension that Artistar Jewels has been able to build and consolidate over time: a project capable of bringing together around artistic research a range of expertise, perspectives, and professional practices from different contexts. It is here that the most authentic vocation of Artistar Jewels is defined: not merely to show what contemporary jewelry is today, but, edition after edition, to help create the conditions for it to be recognized, supported, and guided toward what it may yet become. A bridge between artists and galleries, between research and professional practice, between an exhibition and paths still waiting to be built.

KUIPER RELICS Kuiper Relics answers the question: what if you applied a mechanical engineering design approach, precision fabrication technologies, and space-grade materials, to the world of fashion? Engineer-turned-artist James Abdow’s avant-garde jewelry and accessories are meticulously designed to transport the wearer out of this world. These sculptural-mechanical artifacts take influence from the art and architecture of ancient civilizations, futurist concept art, and the allure of space exploration.

A hybrid structure with familiar, organic components in juxtaposition with a decidedly overbuilt, mecha-exoskeletal frame. Squeeze the exoskeleton shut, and a steel bolt engages the strike-plate in the opposing side, securely locking in place with a satisfying “clunk.” A greyanodized slider intuitively signals the wearer to open the bag with a flick of the thumb.

An 18mm dark grey moissanite is captured by seven identical clamping arms at 45° intervals. The clasp is integrated into the chassis, with an intuitive release button located on the side.

LIN SHIAO TUNG Lin Shiao Tung believes that every meaningful creation begins with a moment that touches the heart. For over thirty-five years, his journey has been guided by a single question: How can life's most precious moments be preserved? Rather than depicting the visible world, Lin transforms invisible emotions into wearable works of art. To him, jewelry is a vessel for emotion and a witness to time. Each creation is beautifully expressed through sculptural forms and meticulous craftsmanship.
01. MESSENGER OF HAPPINESS · A RAINY NIGHT IN BLOOM One evening, Lin Shiao Tung’s son asked, "What is happiness?" Reflecting on those quiet hours, Lin realized true happiness lies in simple, cherished moments. Years later, a Taiwan blue magpie became his companion during late nights in his atelier. In Messenger of Happiness · A Rainy Night in Bloom, these memories converge. The bluebird becomes a messenger of hope and blessing. Inspired by ink painting, Lin transforms emotion into a poetic landscape through jadeite and sculptural form.

The bluebird rests among blossoms after rain, where moonlight and jadeite evoke absolute stillness. Rather than illustrating nature, the work captures an unseen feeling, deeply remembered. To Lin, jewelry is never created simply for beauty; it exists to preserve life's emotions. It is also about giving them the courage to move forward, continuing to provide strength even as we walk our own path. Every journey becomes meaningful because someone once walked beside us.

MIHIRO Mihiro is a Japanese jewelry artist and goldsmith exploring the interplay of line, light, structure, and negative space. She developed her craft in Japan, then studied traditional ornamental engraving, openwork, and hand fabrication in Florence. Drawing on her interior design background and each gemstone’s character, she unites structure and ornament. She designs and handcrafts primarily one-of-a-kind jewelry, reinterpreting tradition with a contemporary sensibility.
01. LOGGIA DI LUCE This ring was shaped around the form and deep blue presence of a black opal, with the setting, openwork, and shank conceived as a single architectural structure. Repeated arches and apertures create the impression of a light-filled arcade. Mihiro carefully balanced height, angle, and spacing so the negative spaces remain harmonious from every viewpoint. Fine hand engraving softens the weight of the metal, allowing stone, structure, and void to form a unified rhythm.

02. NOTTE D’OPALE This pendant was inspired by a boulder opal whose deep play of color suggested a starlit sky over quiet mountains. Mihiro extends the landscape within the stone into sculpted white gold, layering ridgelines, bands of light, and diamond stars. Florentine hand engraving and openwork meet Japanese maki-e: gold powder scattered over black urushi is polished to reveal moonlight on mountains emerging from darkness, transforming the gemstone's hidden story into a quiet, solemn wearable landscape.

Voluminous shoulders suggest the fullness and texture of plumage, while hand engraving softens the metal's visual weight and creates a fluid rhythm. Delicate openwork admits light and air, expressing the peacock's dignity and vitality in a contemporary form.

04. PAPILIO ULYSSES These earrings transform deep blue boulder opals into the wings of the Ulysses butterfly, a symbol of good fortune. Mihiro follows each stone's natural outline, using hand engraving and openwork to suggest layered wings and movement. Their angle and spread were carefully shaped to frame the face beautifully when worn. Pear-shaped diamonds form the tails of the hindwings, completing each butterfly's silhouette and giving the pair a sense of lightness, suspension, and movement.

01. RECAST DIAMOND ROND RING This ring explores what determines an object’s value: the material from which it is made, or the perception that defines it. Between its true value, linked to the material, whose cost has continued to rise, and its symbolic value, shaped by our social and economic constructs, the diamond’s form becomes an intrinsic expression of luxury. Crafted from the casting of accumulated scrap material, the stone is born of an act of recovery and transformation.

01.
FREEDOM Born from the homonymous series of paintings by Marzia Pendini, dedicated to the young Iranian women punished for claiming their rights, Freedom transforms the veil into a fluid feminine silhouette, no longer a symbol of oppression, but of identity, strength and rebirth. Crafted in white gold with white and black diamonds, the piece embodies the contrast between light and darkness, fear and courage. The ruby drop symbolises both pain and life: a tear, but also passion and resistance.

SCARR JEWELRY SCARR is a contemporary jewelry brand exploring the relationship between material, identity, and transformation. Created by gemologist and goldsmith Sofia Angelova, who shaped her creativity through study and work in Italy, it combines technical precision with an instinctive approach to making. Every piece is conceived as a precious personal artifact, one that accompanies the body, gathers traces, and preserves the marks of matter, becoming inseparable from the person who wears it.
01. SELFFIGURE BRACELET SELFFIGURE explores the scar not as a wound, but as a form shaped by time. More than ordinary jewelry, the bracelet becomes an extension of the wearer, transforming a mark into sculptural volume. Its generous form expresses the strength accumulated through experience, while a natural salt and pepper diamond is embedded within the piece as a trace of the material's own history. Its sculptural presence allows the body to wear its history rather than conceal it.

02.
MORPH BAG MORPH Bag explores transformation as an ongoing process of identity. Crafted and sculpted by hand, its form is shaped by the folds, contours, and topography of the body, becoming a second skin for its wearer. Inspired by the principle of morphology, it unfolds into a sculptural cuff bracelet, a necklace, and a pair of earrings while remaining a unified design. Each element can be worn independently while remaining connected to the same structural language, preserving the integrity of the whole.

FLOW BROOCH Flow Brooch is inspired by the natural grace and fluid motion of organic forms, translating movement, balance and harmony into a contemporary design. Its flowing lines echo patterns found in nature, while ridged, carved curves introduce structure, balancing softness with strength. A diamond-set connector leads to a faceted teardrop rubellite, whose vivid colour contrasts with the calm, milky nephrite and diamonds, creating a refined tension between colour, form and material.

SPIRAL MOTION Starry is a jewelry designer and researcher whose practice explores cultural identity, contemporary jewelry, and visual communication. Her work reinterprets the silver filigree traditions of the Dong ethnic group from Southwest China through large-scale jewelry and wearable objects. Combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary dissemination strategies, she seeks to reposition endangered craft traditions within present-day visual culture.
01.
PULSE PULSE represents the beginning of life and the starting point of SPIRAL MOTION. Inspired by the butterfly motif found in Dong cultural traditions and origin stories, this chapter explores birth, growth, and continuity. The butterfly form is gradually abstracted and translated through silver filigree, connecting cultural memory with contemporary jewelry. As the first movement of the collection, Pulse establishes the origin from which the spiral begins to grow and expand.

02. TIDE TIDE explores water, movement, and migration within Dong cultural memory. The spiral motif is connected to the waterways crossed by Dong ancestors during migration, carrying memories of movement, hardship, and collective history. Through repeated curves, flowing structures, and handmade silver filigree, the pieces translate this cultural symbol into contemporary forms. TIDE allows the spiral to expand and move across the body like continuously flowing water.

BREATH BREATH brings traditional silver filigree into a more contemporary and sculptural language. In this chapter, the spiral expands in scale and moves beyond conventional jewellery forms, creating a stronger relationship between the object, body, and surrounding space. Large but lightweight structures explore movement, volume, and visual presence while maintaining the delicacy of handmade filigree. BREATH represents the point where tradition begins to develop into a new contemporary expression.

04. WHISPER WHISPER combines traditional silver filigree with enamel, introducing colour and a new craft language into the collection. Inspired by the colours and details of Dong textiles, enamel creates a dialogue between craft techniques and contemporary jewelry. The contrast between delicate silver structures and coloured surfaces explores how cultural memory can be carried through material and craftsmanship. WHISPER represents tradition evolving rather than remaining fixed in the past.
