THE MAGNIFICIENT BATTLE & JOURNEY We humans, you see, are an ignorant species. We chase scarce things; we mindlessly run behind money, power, and whatnot, but we ignore the gift given to us right in our arms. Good health and an abundance of time are assets that we fail to recognise until they are depleted, leaving us with anger, remorse, regrets, and unfulfilled desires. Around this revolves my story as a young woman whose life changed drastically as I battled the wrath of two life-threatening diseases.

The last three months of 2022 were the most difficult phase of my life, as I was diagnosed with Sepsis and Dengue fever. Being diagnosed with Sepsis and finding out that over 95% of the blood in my body got infected was itself an unexpected trauma to deal with! Just then, I got hit straight in the gut with a dengue-positive blood report.

When I think back, flashes of syringes, doctors, and pills flash through my mind, and I relive the horror all over again. I recall losing the will to fight and allowing the virus to take over every cell in my body.

Numb bodies and blurry visions with tiring treatments had drained my energy and hope. However, I did not let my body control my mind and gathered the courage to withstand all the pain to get past this phase. I was adamant about emerging victorious in the face of sickness and ill health; I marched forward fearlessly, with the armour of faith, as I began to recover.

Being an ardent lover of literature, I channelled my worries into my words as I became the author of "Densis," a chronicle of my journey and its lessons, which has become an Amazon bestseller today which was launched at THE INTERNATIONAL KOLKATA BOOK FAIR. I also developed The Inspiring Women Community (TIWC) to provide a forum for women to have their skills recognised, allowing them to construct a secure future for themselves. I am still recovering from my sickness, but with these projects, I hope to convert my weakness into my strength and demonstrate to the universe that I am stronger than the problems it throws at me.

Today, I am an Award-Winning - Best-Selling author and engineer with a doctorate in literature and a global world record holder. Along with being a Professional Certified Expert in Literature from the Global Professional Expert Forum of the Professional Skill Development Hub Singapore, I have also won over 50+ international and national awards.

I began 2023 with a resolution to never give up by having faith in the almighty. Perhaps the prayers of my family and friends have kept me alive today. With ongoing treatment, I envision myself recovering soon and emerging undefeated. It is a promise to my past self that I will continue writing as I move through the dooms of thick and thin. I do not see my disease as a setback, but I am thankful for this experience as it has changed my ways of living.

I have learned that in the hustle and bustle of our tiring daily lives, we often ignore our health and forget to take care of ourselves. So lower the stress level, have that sweet cupcake, and keep yourself truly happy. If life knocks you down, get up even though it feels impossible and move; one foot in front of the other, as you possess the power to get through it, one way or the other.
