Upama is a dreamer,a poet,a 'Vitiligo Crusader' & an Assistant Professor of English from the city of joy,Kolkata.Poetry is an integral part of her existence.Lately,her 2 books viz 'Protibimbo' ( a collection of 10 Bengali poems) & 'Into The Hue: Beyond The Horizon of Horizons'( a collection of 25 poems in English) got published from 'Atmajaa Publishers' & the 'Shades Publishers' respectively.Her poems got published in several anthologies namely: 'The Write Order','Instant Publication','Rosewood Publication','Literoma Yearbook on Women & Emotions' etc.Her poetry book 'Into The Hue:Beyond The Horizon of Horizons' got selected by the 'LearningAve Group' under the category of 'National Book of Record of Appreciation' and was also awarded 'The Pioneer's Flair Awards 2022' by the 'Pioneer's Haven' for her book.Lately,she took up the responsibility of educational sponsorship of an underprivileged Girl Child's Education,studying at the 'Inner Wheel School of South Calcutta'.She's also a core member of 'Gender Benders', working towards 'Gender Sensitisation'.
