Coffee & Conversation: Coffee & Conversation:

1. What does Women Empowerment means to you?

Women Empowerment for me is the zeal with which any lady chases her dreams and turns it to a reality. A woman who is selling vegetables , or a woman who is an Air force pilot, holds the same significance , because of both of them are living their lives through their daily struggles and not just uttering slogans for feminism and women empowerment!

2. Who is your inspiration?

My mother is my inspiration in every sphere, be it my education or be it my Yoga regime. She has always guided me to face problems directly and fight it to get a solution. She was a gymnastic enthusiast in her childhood days. So she understands very well the significance of staying fit for every girl. MAR-APR

3. If you could change one thing in the World, what would that be?

When I used to learn yoga from my mentor Shri Tapas Karmakar, I had the privilege to come across the special children , whom we designate as physically and/or mentally challenged people in our so called “ sophisticated society”. I was fortunate to witness their high level of flexibility and finesse in performing advance level Yoga. If I had a chance to change anything in this world, I would wish that the Almighty God should cure them from all their ailments. We, the so called “normal human beings” can never reach their level of perfection! They are so talented indeed! God is seriously rude to them . I salute to their parents, who are struggling daily, with them and their upbringing.

4. How can Yoga help us in being flexible & healthy?

Yoga has nothing to do with any serios definition. Whatever is routine for us, it is Yoga! Activities like walking , running, brainstorming (which needs you to focus and concentrate), cycling , etc, every active jobs is what we define as Yoga. Apart from performing classical Yoga poses , if one is involved in all these regular activities, you are actually living a health regime and getting disciplined each new day. Especially for senior citizens who are reccurently having arthritis problems need to follow strict Yoga regimes to keep themselves healthy. Even young generations who are in service, need to follow at least 30 minutes of regular exercises , Yoga and meditation regimes to enable them to cope with the hardships of the rat race in the current society.

5. According to you which is the best Yoga Pose for beginners?

Depending on age, I would bifurcate. If a person is a youngster, I would suggest he/she should begin with the easiest but the very significant “Surya Namaskar” pose. In case the person is aged above 45 years, I would suggest that he/she should begin with meditation regime in plain Padmasana or Bajrasana Pose. Gradually we may proceed with further improvement of poses, depending on their level of flexibility and muscle strengths.

6. You received your Honorary Doctorate recently. How do you feel about that?

This was indeed the biggest gala event of my life . I sincerely thanks the Grace Ladies Global Academy mentor team, the Priya’s Wisdom Publication team, and most importantly Priyasi Madam for giving me this rare opportunity at this global level. It is indeed a matter of huge recognition for me. Yoga therapy is the most neglected part in our Treatment Industry. But , Yoga and Meditation therapy can be the biggest source of alternative medicines , if practiced under correct and expert supervision. This honorary Doctorate degree will definitely help me in spreading the awareness regarding Yoga and Meditation therapy among the society. I will try my level best to conduct Yoga sessions in every sphere possible.
