Hello again. I hope everyone is doing well and pressing forward with the ever challenging and gratifying practice of osteopathic medicine. My interaction with people is the enjoyable part of medicine for me and perhaps the part you most enjoy as well. I have a few things to report to Adrian L. Carter, D.O. you this quarter. I had the IOA President opportunity to see the President of the United States drive by my clinic, which sits off Highway 41. Staff and patients were very distracted that day. It was quite an experience to see the President’s motorcade as it drove him back and forth from the airport in Evansville where Air Force One landed. President Obama was visiting a steel plant near Princeton. It was an honor to have the President in our neck of the woods even if I don’t agree with his politics. Hopefully, this trip will help our state progress further on quality and higher paying jobs. Hopefully, Governor Pence and the citizens of our state can convince the Obama admini- (continued on page 17)

JUHASZ INSTALLED AS PRESIDENT
Robert S. Juhasz, D.O., an AOA board-certified internist from Concord Township, OH, is the 118th president of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). Dr. Juhasz serves as president of Cleveland Clinic’s South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights, OH, where he worked his way up from an after-school job as a dishwasher. “Out of all the positions I held at the hospital, I really enjoyed being an orderly because it was an opportunity to help patients meet their basic needs and I always felt the appreciation of not only the patients but their families as well,” says Dr. Juhasz. “Many of my mentors taught me that we could improve health care by treating patients the way we would want ourselves and our families to be treated. As AOA president, I want to ensure D.O.s have the resources they need to provide the best care for their patients.” One of Dr. Juhasz's goals as president is to facilitate more osteopathic medical research which, he says, would provide D.O.s with fact-based research to communicate their distinctiveness to (continued on page 3) IN THIS THIS ISSUE IN ISSUE Member Concerns……………………………………..…3 33rd Annual Winter Update…………………………...….4 Tips From Our Consultant……………..………………..7 WMD Update……………….…………..………….…....16 AIOA News……………….……………………….…….17 Dean’s Update…………………………………………..18 Coming Events………………………………………….19 Practice Opportunities………………………………….20
