Collierville Police Department Promotes Detective Glen Pace to Lieutenant

Erin Daniels Public Education Specialist

Collierville Police Department’s Detective Glen Pace was promoted to Lieutenant in a promotion ceremony held at the Collierville Police Training Room on September 12, 2013.

Glen began his career in law enforcement with the Moscow, TN Police Department April 1997, as a reserve officer. He was hired as a full time officer September 1997, and started attending the State Law Enforcement Academy. In 1999, Glen began working for the Fayette County Sherriff’s Department as a Deputy. He served until January 2004, when he joined the Collierville Police Department (CPD).

In 2006, Glen became a member of the CPD traffic unit, where he served as a traffic crash investigator. After attending over 240 hours of training, Glen was certified as a traffic crash reconstructionist. During his tenure as a traffic investigator, Glen refined his skills. In March of 2011 Glen was promoted to Detective, while also representing CPD at the regional organized crime information center.

In August of 2013, Glen participated in a rigorous promotional assessment for the position of Lieutenant. The assessment involved written, oral, and practical tests on State and local laws, effective police supervision, criminal investigation, case law, community policing, and Town policies. “Promotions are about recognizing excellence in job performance. Glen has worked hard and done all the rights things to position himself for this opportunity. I look forward to more outstanding results from Glen’s hard work and dedication,” said Collierville Police Chief Larry Goodwin.

Erin Daniels was born in Londonderry, Northern Ireland.

At that time, there was an American base (the Eglinton Naval Air Station) located in Ireland. Her parents were originally from New York, but due to her dad’s military career, Erin grew up in South Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, and Tennessee, which resulted in an upbringing of the best of both worlds; Northern roots with plenty of Southern exposure.

Erin graduated from Millington High School and the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education.

She taught English and math at White Station High School.

Erin has been married to Bill Daniels for 30 years and has two grown children, Gwen who works in Chicago, IL and Tim who attends college in Oberlin, OH. Bill and Erin are members of the Collierville Methodist Church and together, they enjoy gardening, cooking, and volunteering for various arts organizations.

Erin, who started working for the Collierville Fire Department in August 2013, is excited about her new job.

She is the part-time Public Education Specialist, who promotes fire safety full-time with all ages and stages. She visits fourteen area preschools monthly during the school year to teach the Kid Safe curriculum, promotes the annual school-wide Fire Prevention Poster Contest, and manages the “October is Fire Safety Month” program, in area schools.

The Leadership Collierville 2014 classes are in full swing. Both classes have had their opening retreats. They are now traveling their community on various class days, visiting local businesses, public and private schools, local non-profits, local and state government offices, and local police and fire departments. They also have a chance to expand on their leadership skills and share with their classmates about themselves, their professions and community efforts.
