ThroughoutthisEasterseason,we’rehighlightingexemplarsofperseveranceandresilience: peoplewhoseliveshelpusseewhatitlooksliketoliveasresurrectionpeople. Thesearenotperfectheroes,butrealpeoplewhofacedstruggle,uncertainty,andchallenge, anddiscoveredGod’sgraceinthemidstofit.Theirstoriesremindusthatresilienceisnotabout havingitalltogether,butabouttrustingthatGodisatworkwithinus, helpingusriseintothefullnessoflife.

FaithfulintheFaceofFear
Daniel’sstorycomesfromatimeofexile,whenthepeople ofIsraelwerelivingfarfromhomeundertheruleofforeign empires.Takenfromhishomelandasayoungman,Daniel foundhimselfinthecourtsofBabylonandlaterPersia, navigatinglifeinaculturethatdidnotsharehisfaithor values.
Despitethepressuresaroundhim,Danielremaineddeeply rootedinhisrelationshipwithGod.Heprayedregularly, evenwhenitbecamedangeroustodoso.InDaniel6,a royaldecreemadeitillegaltopraytoanyonebuttheking. Danielknewtheconsequencesandchosefaithfulness anyway.
Hecontinuedhispracticeofprayer,trustingGodwiththe outcomeAsaresult,hewasthrownintoadenoflionsThe storyisdramatic,butatitsheart,Daniel’sunwaveringtrust quietlyandsteadilyremains.
WeturntoDanielthisweekbecauseheshowsusthatperseverance isoftenpracticedintheordinaryrhythmsoffaith.Hiscouragedid notappearsuddenlyinthelions’den.Itwasformedovertime, throughdailydevotionandtrust.
Daniel’sresiliencewasrootedin: consistentspiritualpractice trustinGod’spresence,eveninuncertainty faithfulnesswithoutcontrolovertheoutcome
Thisstoryisnotjustaboutbeingrescued.Itisaboutchoosingtrust evenwhenwedonotknowhowthingswillturnout.
Danielinvitesustoask: WhatpracticeskeepmegroundedinGod? WhereamIbeingcalledtoremainfaithful,evenwhenitfeels risky?
