Call to Worship
Astrian/arr. Renfrow
adapted by Steve Garnaas-Holmes
Christ was baptized in the Jordan, immersed in our lives. And we are baptized into Christ. You spoke to him, claimed him as your beloved, and poured out your Holy Spirit upon him. Alleluia! Speak to us and claim us in his name. Come, Holy Spirit, and reorient us by your grace. Alleluia!
Hymn
Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing
UMH #400
Prayer of Confession The grace of God be with you. And also with you. Trusting in God’s tender mercy, let us confess our sin to God with one another. Loving God, we confess that we have lived by our efforts instead of by your grace guidance. We live in anxiety rather than trust in you and your kingdom. We confess that, in our anxiety, we have acted hurtfully. Through the gift of your Son Jesus Christ, who was born and baptized, who taught and healed, who lived and died that we may know your love, forgive us for the hurts we have caused, relieve us of our illusions, reorient us to your kingdom, and restore our deep trust in your grace alone. silence for prayer
Words of Assurance
As Jesus was claimed as beloved in his baptism, God continues to claim us as beloved as well. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Alleluia! Amen.

Reaffirmation of Baptism Prayers of the People The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come; your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

PRAYER CONCERNS
Prayers for those who are without homes. Prayers for those struggling with their physical and mental health. Prayers for our country and the divisiveness caused by political discourse. Prayers for our country’s leaders to choose pathways of peace and not war or violence. May we find ways to communicate and work together. Prayers for those around the world, but especially in Gaza and Sudan, experiencing war, hardship, food insecurity, and famine. May we share what we have in plenty for those who do not have nearly enough. Prayers for those being targeted for where their families are from. Prayers for people in all places in war.
