REITER’S BLOCK Something new. This spring and summer has surely been something new, to say the least, so we thought we would join in and bring our own novel product to the scene. We love to produce advertising and events that sell for our customers, and The PrimeTIMES offers a new twist on our legacy of low cost, high impact advertising that pays. Blend it with some of our targeted digital campaigns and turn the power of our massive database to work for you. Ask us how. It’s fall sale season and they’ll surely get a boost from the momentum of a strong spring despite all of its challenges. Demand for bulls was expected to be strong and it did not disappoint. However, the spring female sales made me nervous so it was surely not only a sigh of relief but also a confirmation of the strength of the business after the success of my two May events. I rode to Wadley, Georgia with my good friend, Ron Kreis, for an awesome event at the height of the shutdown for Ogeechee Angus – a reschedule from mid-April. Clint, Andrew, Smitty, and crew brought out a really impressive set of Angus females that averaged and totaled up more than they have in their 13 years of sales; it was strong
from first to last and at the end we wished we had more to sell. Those guys do it right and they’ve added a fall sale this year to better serve demand. We moved the Donors Unlimited Share the Future Sale back a month to allow for better planning and we were glad when the customers waited with us. The auction was as strong as it has been in years and was a great confirmation of the quality, integrity, and reputation that the DU Team brings to the business. If you like club calf cows and have never been there, you are definitely missing out. That was one heckuva set of cattle and I loved helping to sell them. It promises to be an exciting fall. Equal parts anxiety and opportunity make for memorable partners in my experience. Our hay and corn crops look really good so far and that seems to be a common theme in the Heartland. Get ready to add plenty of quality this season and please call our advertisers if they can help. I am ready to get back out on the road. Buy. Sell. Be Happy.
