At 10am on ursday April 25, the second plenary Arti cial Intelligence – Unlocking the Next Frontier in Transportation (sponsored by Amazon Web Services) has contributors from academia and a privacy forum who join transportation professionals to discuss the bene ts of adopting AI in the transportation sector.
In addition, the popular State Department of Transportation (DOT) Roundtable and City DOT Roundtable will return for this year, along with new Roundtables for Gender Equity and Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).
Alongside these groundbreaking sessions, there will be two skill enhancing workshops. e Gender Equity Workshop will show attendees how to achieve equality in the workplace, while the Digital Infrastructure Workshop aims to help participants understand the future of smart and digital infrastructure. For those wanting to see some of the latest technology in real-life use, ITS America Conference & Expo 2024 will o er two tech tours on Monday, April 22, providing special insights into how Arizona, Maricopa County and Phoenix infrastructure deploy ITS technologies. Attendees can visit MCDOT SMARTDrive Program’s Connected Vehicle Test Bed and can tour the 5.3 mile test facility where operational eld tests of connected and automated vehicle (CAV) technologies are carried out. USDOT open for questions at ITS America
Delegates at ITS America’s Conference & Expo with an interest in Vehicle-toEverything (V2X) communication to improve safety, can get some guidance from the top at the US Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) booth in Phoenix.
USDOT officials will be on hand to discuss the recently released draft National V2X Deployment Plan and how to deploy V2X in any city, county or state.
The draft National V2X Deployment
Plan provides a blueprint for nationwide deployment of the communication technologies across a variety of devices and platforms without interference while also ensuring security. These devices enable vehicles to communicate with one another and other road users (including pedestrians and cyclists), and with roadside infrastructure.
There will also be a number of special, interactive sessions (schedule posted
at the booth) with representatives of specific ITS Joint Program Office (ITS JPO) initiatives.
Additionally, ITS America CEO Laura Chace and ITS JPO Director Brian Cronin will exchange views in a fireside chat during the first plenary session on Wednesday, April 24, at 10 a.m.
