Synapse ITS highlights diverse technology portfolio

Citilog turns PTZ cameras into an automatic incident detection network

C

itilog (a Sensys Networks brand) will preview a major expansion of its automatic incident detection (AID) architecture with PTZAnalytics, enabling the tens of thousands of PTZ trac cameras already installed on North American roadways to be upgraded to always-on intelligent safety devices.

For more than a decade, Citilog’s AID has been fully compatible with PTZ cameras that support preset positions. e new PTZ-Analytics feature now extends that capability to legacy cameras that lack presets entirely, or to deployments where position feedback is architecturally blocked. e breakthrough is automatic,

AI-based mask generation.

Standard AID requires a dened road surface “mask” tied to a known camera position.

PTZ-Analytics removes that dependency by observing realtime trac ow to dynamically identify the travelled roadway.

In peak trac conditions, this learning phase takes only a few minutes. Once operational, the camera detects stopped vehicles, pedestrians and debris within the automatically generated zone. When an operator moves the camera, the

system reinitialises and adapts to the new scene. “e infrastructure is already there – poles, cameras, communications,” says Bill Weber, VP of sales. “is is a small software investment that puts that entire network to work for Vision Zero, identifying dangerous situations automatically and alerting operators so faster responses can save lives.”

Highway-scale detection from Sensys Networks Sensys Networks will showcase its RTMS Echo radar, highlighting a solution designed to modernise highway vehicle detection at scale. RTMS Echo delivers accurate, per-vehicle data across up to 12 lanes from a single pole-mounted device, reducing the number of sensors required for wide roadway coverage. At the event, the company will emphasise how this approach helps agencies simplify infrastructure, lower installation costs and streamline long-term maintenance.

The system features a modern, IP-native architecture with a single Cat5x or Cat6x connection and built-in Wi-Fi, enabling fast, on-site configuration through a browserbased interface.
