EVENT OVERVIEW The Coffee Industry Heroes awards recognises those in the coffee and café industry who have displayed commitment and made positive impacts towards their craft, the industry, and the people around them. Use The Coffee Industry Heroes awards to celebrate an individual within the coffee and/or café industry who is either a Community Champion, a Next-Gen talent, or worthy of the Lifetime Achievement award.

AWARD CATEGORIES The Coffee Industry Heroes Awards feature categories recognising excellence, leadership, innovation, and impact of individuals across Australia’s industrial sectors. COMMUNITY CHAMPION The MICE Community Champion is an individual within the coffee industry who demonstrates acts of community service and devotion to a social cause. This award recognises someone who volunteers their time towards a charity, community organisation(s), and/or is involved in a social service outside of their own business/company for the greater good of the community and its members. LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT The Lifetime Achievement award recognises an individual who has been a part of the coffee industry for more than 20 years, and has made positive contributions towards the Australian and/or global coffee market. The recipient’s long-serving career will be honoured for championing growth, innovation, and serving the coffee community.
NEXT-GEN TALENT The Next-Gen Talent award celebrates an individual in the coffee industry under the age of 30 who exudes passion for their craft and has made a significant contribution to the business they are part of. This could be via financial growth, successful social media campaigns, positive client feedback, product innovation, implementation of new technology, and/or a positive influence on their peers. SUSTAINABILITY CHAMPION This award recognises an individual or business for their contribution to environmental responsibility and sustainable practices within the Australian coffee community, including initiatives to advance waste and energy reduction, sustainable practices, technology, and social impact.
AWARD CATEGORIES COFFEE EDUCATOR
HOME GROWN HERO
This award honours exceptional mentoring and guidance at all educational levels within the Australian coffee sector, including coffee-making skills, roasting, equipment, and service training, business ownership and leadership. The nominator recipient must display evidence of successfully guiding and growing individuals in their chosen discipline, and make a significant contribution to the growth of a specific business or industry.
This award honours a member of the Australian coffee growing community who has been an advocate for the growth of the local farming sector, is instrumental in its development, and has been influential in advocating for recognition of Australian-grown coffee production on the national and international market.
BEST NEW CAFÉ This award honours a new café within Australia that has been established in the past 12 months and has demonstrated a positive contribution to its local community through its quality coffee and/or food offering, environment, design, and customer-base.
