Staff Wellbeing

This term whilst students have working from home, Mrs Gill has been working on improving staff wellbeing. Returning to school in January and being faced with a third lockdown affected the moral of many staff who felt isolated in their workspace and were lacking drive and enthusiasm. She decided to set up a small programme of daily activities to encourage colleagues to stay active and connected, which included;

15 minute walks every morning and afternoon. Dance fitness at midday, where Mrs Gill taught line dances to different popular songs A keept fit circuit was set up in the sports hall which staff could use before, during and after school.

“I have really enjoyed taking part in the daily walking activities in school which Mrs Gill organised during this 3rd lockdown period. It has been a good boost for our mental health combining exercise and a chat with fellow colleagues during these worrying times.” “Enjoyed trying to keep up with your fast pace! 10 minutes in the bracing cold each day was refreshing and helped to clear the mind.”

“I wish these activities could continue as I’ve looked forward to them each day.”
