Canadian contemporary sculptor / blacksmith, the naturalistic forged steel model of a grape vine, entwined with tendrils and leaves, rising to a horizontal meandering branch, measuring 90” high (7.5 feet high) x 43” wide. Artist credits include: featured artist in the 1996, 2001 & 2003 issues of The Artist-Blacksmith Association of North America, International Caniron-Conference at McMaster University in 2003, and in Victoria in 2007, featured in the 2011 Winter issue of the Metal Arts Guild. Public commissions include: The Queen’s Entrance at Rideau Hall, Ottawa, Governor General’s Entrance, East Block of Parliament Buildings of Canada.

JOHANNA ELEONORE ‘HANNI” ROTHSCHILD (1921-2020)

Canadian, was a member of the Sculptors Society of Canada (SSC), “Vive le Roi!” (Hail to the King!), a comedic figural ceramic group fronted by a figure on horseback, in back is a group of helmeted knights brandishing swords and shields, all decorated with a matte glaze, minor losses. Measuring approximately 14” high x 15” wide x 22” deep. Together with an illustrated catalogue and artist bio from Laing Galleries, Toronto. This same ceramic group is Illustrated and described (titled) in a review from Ontario Homes & Living, dated May 1965. The artist’s work has been exhibited at the Stratford Festival, The Royal Ontario Museum, The Montreal Museum of fine Art, and the Toronto Art Gallery.

Two pieces of Flygsfors art glass designed by Paul Kedelv (1917-1990) from “Coquille” Series, the Coquille vase measuring 6 1/2” high, with remnant of the paper label, along with the Coquille bowl in black measuring 5 3/4” x 7 1/2” x 5 1/2”, both signed and dated underside. Note: Paul Kedelv was one of Sweden’s leading glass artists of the 20th century. He is most known for his design for the Flygsfors and Reijmyre glassworks in the 1950s–1970s. Paul’s artistry is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.

Note: Léonard moved to Paris when he was quite young, and studied sculpture at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris. DISCLAIMER: Ivory, tortoise shell and other “animal” items, including Rosewood, are restricted from export out of Canada due to protection under CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species). Pridham’s will not provide shipping or CITES application service. The successful buyer has to pick-up the item in person. Shall the buyer decide to take the item across a border after picking it up, the buyer takes full responsibility for obtaining proper exporting and importing documents from both countries:
