Gay-Straight Alliances We support the formation of Gay-Straight Alliances at rural schools throughout our region— in some cases providing the only place where LGBTQ youth are able to share their experiences and receive critical support.

4.68 million people in the U.S. can still be fired because of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

How do I avoid talking about my partner at work so I don’t lose my job?

Non-Discrimination Ordinances We partner with organizations to establish and defend local non-discrimination ordinances throughout the Northwest, ensuring that no one is fired or denied housing because of who they are or who they love.

1 in 4 transgender people delay necessary care because of discrimination and harassment from medical providers.

HEALTHCARE ACCESS

How will I get to my appointment when the only doctor who will see me is hundreds of miles away?

OUR RESPONSE

Culturally-Proficient Care We commit resources to expand the network of healthcare professionals who provide high quality, culturally-proficient care to transgender and gender non-conforming patients.

Nearly 70% of homeless LGBTQ youth report being rejected by their families when they came out.

FOOD AND HOUSING SECURITY

Capacity Building We invest in capacity building and individualized technical assistance for service providers, allowing them to address the unique needs of homeless LGBTQ youth.

More than 40% of LGBTQ older adults report discrimination from care providers.

ELDER CARE

Can I count on being safe and supported as I get older?

OUR RESPONSE

Education and Training We fund trainings for care providers that increase the quality of care for LGBTQ seniors throughout our region.
