In the face of daily attacks that could erode our hope, our community finds the strength to show up, grounded in our courage—and keep working toward that better world. Courage emerges differently:

We Show Up When hate speech pamphlets were forced into the hands of high school students in Kennewick, Washington, a community rallied overnight to form a Love Army in support of its students.
The ‘Love Army’ gathers in Eastern Washington in response to an instance of hate emerging in their community, with the support of Pride Foundation staff.
In the face of those who threaten our lives, our love, and our families, we have the courage to show up—over and over again— for every person in our community.
We Speak Up When ICE raids on immigrant and refugee communities tore families apart in rural Oregon, neighbors and friends organized, rallied, and spoke out to protect one another.
Rural Organizing Project, a Pride Foundation grantee, assembles people in The Dalles, Oregon to protest the detention of immigrants and refugees held by ICE in the local prison.
In the face of violence and separation, we fight to keep our communities together by amplifying the voices of those who have been targeted.
We Share Our Stories When the fundamental rights of an entire community were put to a vote in Anchorage, Alaska, trans and gender diverse people put their lives on the line with one clear message: you cannot erase us.
Lillian from Transgender Leadership Alaska, a group funded through Pride Foundation’s Rapid Response Fund, engages supporters during the Fair Anchorage campaign to protect the city’s non-discrimination ordinance.
In the face of attacks on our lives and livelihoods, we have the courage to boldly share our stories in the fight to be safe, recognized, and valued.
We Take Back Our Lives When the violence of oppression is pervasive in our communities, Queer and Trans People of Color create spaces to heal, thrive, and build strength through connection.
API Chaya partners with organizations like Pride Foundation’s TRANSform Washington program to make space for QTPOC to have conversations, share food, and build community.
In the face of violations that deny our humanity and worth, we have the courage to take back our lives and our freedom.
Our community has demonstrated every day that we have the courage to build a world where every one of us can live safely and openly as our whole selves in the communities we call home.
