Miami Florida native SlyKat has many accomplishment to his Hip Hop resume. He was the first artist to rap over legendary beat maker’s Cool n Dre’s production, first Hip Hop artist with a Las Vegas residency, released A theme song for the Las Vegas Raiders, and so much more. His humble beginnings started in Miami, where he was heavily influenced by the likes of 2 Live Crew, LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg, and Outkast. Working with Cool N Dre on his debut album 9 Lives 6 Samples, was a bittersweet time, as the label went bankrupt causing the project to be unheard.
SlyKat took this situation in stride and pushed onward with his usual persistence and resolve. At this point he had a daughter to care for and was broke. He tried his hand in the streets, after some financial and legal setbacks he reinvented himself and relocated. Las Vegas, a place where people who gamble on themselves is where he planted his flag. He and his best friend Hamir Michel would create a music label which would become City Kidz Entertainment. SlyKat has had nine lives in the world of entertainment. He has accomplished everything from residencies in Las Vegas to becoming the face of Nyak Cognac, an official Remy Martin product. These days SlyKat still does music as well hosts a TV show on the CW network. The Mental Margarita show highlights people from various backgrounds, some more famous and familiar than others. The captures the audience’s attention by Reconnecting them to legends in the culture and introducing viewers to new upstarts. He also created the Mental Margarita Concert Series which Pride and Egoos has partnered with him on. The future looks bright, Vegas lights bright!
Photographer Anthony Parker photography business started as a way to document his life for his children. Sometimes kids save our lives in ways we will rarely understand. One day someone asked Anthony to take some pictures of them, he barely knew what to do with a camera. He didn’t let that stop him. Not long after, he realized he actually had a talent and an eye for taking pictures. Anthony prides himself with providing memories for himself and others. He started his business in May of 2022 and hasn’t looked back. Being a photographer, you are tasked with capturing moments in history. You literally not only shape how history is viewed, you also get the create the image that directly associates to that memory or event. Imagine taking a chance on your dream as a photographer, and literally shooting your shot. That is exactly what Anthony Mr. Shoot yo shot did just that, and he will continue to shoot those shots, living out his dreams while making his clients look good.

Art is emotions, views, and ideas released for the world to relate to, feel, and admire according to LaDonna. I couldn’t agree more and l would add it is the ultimate non verbal way to invoke emotions without saying a word. As an artist, there’s no better feeling than watching people’s reaction to your creativity. The DFW native first exposed the world to her talents st the tender age of six. LaDonna credits Booker T Washington High School of the Performing and Visual Arts with honing her skills. Over time her aspirations have grown from drawing and fashion design to jewelry making. Hip Hop has had an incredible influence on her and that influence in prevalent in her art.
As someone who dabbles with art from time to time, l recognize talent. Drawing is a truly special skill that requires a high degree of visual inspection. In order to draw one must be able to visually capture everything they lay their eyes on. You must see the details that others do not see. The key is not letting what you see overwhelm you, patience is of the utmost importance. LaDonna has mastered the art of patience. When l first discovered LaDonna’s artwork I was floored. Her technique is immaculate and her eye is just as impressive. She is currently working on an NFT project and a hip hop legends clothing capsule to display her unique skill and talent. Next issue we meet the Legendary Hip Hop artist who gave LL Cool J his name, Mikey D. He has a brand new project in the works that is sure bring back lyricism to the game.
