Mechanical History in qathet

This series will explore how everyday communication devices are made and how they have changed throughout the decades. Think radios, typewriter, and Morse code.

Program capacity is limited to 6 per program, please book in advance.

Try out recipes from vintage local cookbooks while learning about local history at the same time!

Dive into the Archives

Get inspired by prompts for writing historical fiction, created in partnership with the Powell River Public Library.

Films and Recordings

Discover a variety of educational films and recordings on our Youtube page!

Join us for a series of talks about local history!

Passionate and engaging community members share stories of local history and their participation in it!

Topics include:

March 1 | 4:30-5:30 PM | The Regals with Tod English

April 11 | 3:00 PM | Diving on the S.S. Capilano with Richard McIntosh

Ages: All ages welcome

Cost: $5/participant

Explore nature and history with your family on a walk through the Millennium Trails! Participants will recieve a nature scavenger hunt. Meet your guide at the Museum on the second Fridays of every month at 11am for a 45 minute walk through the woods. Catered to families with children ages 4-8.

Children 4-5 must have a parent or guardian present.
