Archaeology Day Celebrate International Archaeology Day by getting hands-on and unearthing artifacts from a simulated archaeological excavation! Family Friendly. Saturday October 15 | 1:00 - 3:00 pm Fee: $5.00 per person. Mini-Curators Collaborate with other participants on an exhibit to be displayed at the Museum. Choose from a selection of objects, research information, make your own labels & more! For kids age 10 to 14 years old. Friday October 21 | 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Fee: $30.00 per child. Limited spaces. Remember When Club Recall memories prompted by artifacts and photographs from the museum's collection. Have coffee, reminisce and socialize! Free. For adults and seniors. Little Wonders Learn and play! Children are invited to join us for a monthly themed adventure including artifacts, crafts, games, and stories. Free. Family Friendly. Drop-in. Saturdays | Oct. 8 | Nov. 12 | Dec. 3 10:30 - 11:00 am
Ghost Hunt Become an expert ghost hunter by finding all the ghosts hiding in the exhibits! Family Friendly. October 22-29 | during regular museum hours Free admission to the Museum & participation prizes!

Fall Speaker Series Join us for a series of talks about local history! Once a month from September to December, guest speakers will discuss a variety of topics: September 17 | 1:00 - 2:00 pm Vintage Cars with Terry McCune October 11 | 6:30 - 7:30 pm Archaeology on Xwe’etay/Lasqueti with Dana Lepofsky *available through zoom as well (only for this talk) November 19 | 1:00 - 2:00 pm Texada Mining History with Texada Heritage Society December 6 | 6:30 - 7:30 pm Winter Recreation with Joel Nordman Tickets $5.00/person per talk (buy online, by phone, or in-person) Where: attend in person at the Museum (limited spots) pre-registration recommended.
Memories of the Mill - Memoir Anthology Project partnership with the Powell River Public Library and sponsored by the First Credit Union. Sharing Circle Friday September 23 | 5:00 to 6:00 pm At the Library, in the FCU Room. Everyone Welcome! Bring an anecdote, photo, or an object to share. There will be a presentation about mill history, followed by an open floor for the public. Anthology Book Launch Event Date & time to be announced this Fall. Papermaking ArtRaven Family Drop-in. Come make paper with us at the Art Centre! Free. No registration required. October 22 | 1:00 - 3:00 pm Memento Mori Lantern Workshop Make a lantern with homemade paper. Free. Registration Required. At the Art Centre November 19 | 1:00 - 3:00 pm Gingerbread Hunt Find all the gingerbread hiding in the Museum exhibits! Family Friendly.
