History
from American Bully
by Pretchie84
The American Bully breed has a relatively short but interesting history. It was developed in the United States during 1980s and 1990s. The breed’s foundation dogs were primarily American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, and various other bulldog breeds. The goal was to create a companion dog with a gentle and satble temperament while emphasizing muscularity, sizee, and distinctive physical traits.
Early breeders focused on selectively breeding for desired traits, including a muscular build, a broad head, a strong jaw, and a confident but friendly nature. Over time, the American Bully gained recognition as a separate breed from its original foundation breeds, and breed standards were established.
