We're excited to share one of our favorite Preston Hollow builds— The Norway Project. This backyard transformation was a true collaboration with Randy Angell Designs, who brought the client's vision to life through intentional design and thoughtful space planning. Our team had the privilege of executing every detail and delivering the final result. Let's dive into the highlights.

Patio Built for All Seasons

The tour begins at the expanded patio, designed with year-round entertaining in mind. From recessed heaters to automatic screens, every feature was added to ensure comfort no matter the season. With a built-in kitchen, dining space, and lounge area with a TV, this space is the definition of outdoor living adaptable, functional, and inviting.

The Jewel of the Backyard: Spa + Fire Pit

Looking out from the patio, you'll immediately notice the three-sided infinity edge spa a standout feature that feels both sculptural and serene. Unlike a traditional spa, an infinity edge allows water to continuously spill over multiple sides into the pool below, giving the illusion of a floating surface and providing the soothing sound of moving water. It's a built-in water feature that elevates the entire backyard experience.

Directly behind the spa, a custom fire pit adds warmth and ambiance. This dual setup creates an incredibly cozy environment perfect for soaking in the spa while enjoying the glow of the fire. It's comfort and luxury, beautifully combined.

A Bold Cantilevered Structure

One of the most architectural elements of the space is the cantilevered shade structure. Supported by just four sleek steel posts, the roof appears to float above the lounge area, creating both visual drama and practical shade.

Beneath it, a second fire pit anchors another lounge zone ideal for evening gatherings or quiet conversation.

Lush, Intentional Landscaping

To balance the bold structure and clean lines, the landscaping was layered with texture and softness. Randy Angell's design plan accounted for how each zone would connect visually and functionally, using planting to guide movement and create moments of visual relief. The result is a backyard that feels cohesive, grounded, and vibrant.

Bringing It All Together

The Norway Project is a showcase of what's possible when great design meets expert craftsmanship. Working alongside Randy Angell Designs was a seamless, inspiring collaboration. And with Frontgate furnishings completing the space, the final product is not only visually stunning but also built for everyday comfort. Every decision-from the layout to the materials was made with intention, creating a backyard that's equal parts livable and unforgettable.
