2018 has come and gone in a flash and once again we have had

great success and achievements. We have completed the installation of the K7 and are fully operational with the die cutter that prints the inside and outside of the sheet at the same time, expanded our Continuous Improvement (CI) – 5S program from the visual side to the production side, added new personnel in key areas, and are very excited for the startup of another new high speed Flexo folder gluer for 2019.

Once again the 4th quarter proved to be very challenging, as we were very busy and over committed. As usual, our employees stepped up and work together, to satisfy as many customers as possible.

We would like to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication.

The foundation of continuing to invest in capital and personnel to improve our efficiencies, quality, and service has never been more important than it is today. 2019 is off to a very challenging start.

A new “Super Plant” along with other additional capacity has been added to our local marketplace. Both of these competitors are hungry to fill their plants causing downward pressure on pricing. It is imperative that we continue to improve our operation in all facets of the business.

The New Evol FFG is the “Cadillac” of the industry. This 4 color 45 x 115” machine will run boxes at a speed of 18,000/hr. – 4 times faster than the machine that it is replacing. This will help us remain competitive in a very competitive market place.

The CI Team is completing and sustaining the visual workplace throughout the plant and in 2019 they are concentrating their efforts on synchronized changeover, one box set ups, and reimaging the tooling department. >> CONT. PAGE 2

The synchronized changeover and one box set ups, in conjunction with production management, have reduced set up times on the 618 from a high of 25 minutes in 2017, to 17 minutes in 2018, to 12 minutes in 2019. It shows what can be done when we pay attention to the details. This same diligence will be applied to the other production machinery.

In 2019 the Quality and Safety departments will join forces as we embark on a very difficult road to achieve our SQF (Safe Quality Food) certification.

This is a major undertaking which will take about 18 months to accomplish but when achieved, it will enable PCG to stand out amongst its peers.

Over the past few years we have increased our usage of KIWI â&#x20AC;&#x201C; plant scheduling software - and have seen very positive results. We are continuing this effort in 2019 and are con-

fident we will realize additional plant efficiencies and improvements that will continue to help increase our productivity. With the additional production and volume, our efforts will also be concentrated on utilizing the kiwi software in our shipping department which will provide them with many new tools, assist in improved scheduling of deliveries, and other opportunities to help that department achieve greater results.

In 2018 Michael Scudiero joined PCG as VP of Sales. Michael has over 30 years of experience in the corrugated industry and has proven to be a great addition. While we welcome Michael, we would like to wish Marge Morath all the best as she enters her retirement.

Marge joined the company in 1988 and over the next 30 years , she has become a staple in the PCG family.

Our President Industrial Products

division continues to grow. It has been 2 years since the major acquisition of Cornell Paper Products and the sales of this product line continue to increase.

In 2018, PIP has added the capability of printing box sealing tape in house.

We can print up to 3 colors in addition to flood coating. While we always provided printed tape, this enables us to be more flexible and competitive. 2019 is shaping up to be a great year for PIP as it is our goal to cross-sell all of the PCG customers.

While 2019 is looking to be a very challenging year it is also a very exciting year. We would like to thank all of our employees for their hard work and dedication and look forward to seeing everyone at the Employee Appreciation Day schedule for June 29th at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

In February, we held a small surprise party for Billing Representative, Amanda Carrion to celebrate the upcoming birth of her first child. Amanda and her family welcomed her son, Ulysses on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 6:15pm weighing, 6 lbs. 4 oz. and 18 ž inches long.

It is truly amazing what has happen within the last 18 months in the Middletown facility. When you look around the production floor, you see the obvious changes.

In early 2018, Larry Grossbard, Matthew Grossbard, Brian Sizer and I, Rich Goldberg visited several manufacturing facilities to find our next machine. After an extensive search, we chose to purchase the EVOL 115 from Mitsubishi. Choosing the manufacturer was an easy decision, but deciding where to install the EVOL, would require a creative and strategic plan.

2018 was a busy year for many of us and one of great accomplishments. We would like to congratulate all of the 2018 graduates of The President Container Group family including Zachary Edelman, Joe Baginski, Janabi Castillo and soon to be 2019 graduate, Alexander David.

May 2018 Zachary Edelman attended Wagner College in Staten Island, NY where he graduated from a 5-year accelerated BS/Master’s Physician Assistant program. Zachary’s medical mission trips to Guatemala and Peru, where he provided care to those in remote, underdeveloped villages, convinced him that deformity correction was his ideal field of practice. He is the son of Sales Account Executive, Michael Edelman.

June 2018 Janabi Castillo, graduated from Garfield High School in 2018 and she was in the top 20 of her class. She’s currently attending Bergen Community College.

When she graduates, she plans to become a General Surgeon. Janabi is the daughter of PIP Customer Service Representative, Janeybi Farington.

We determined prior to our search that the 1228B was no longer a part of our future plans due to its age and ability.

So, we moved it and relocated the 618 in its place. Relocating the 618 freed up space to install the EVOL. It may sound easy but it was not. The planning began in May 2018. The execution of the plan and coordination of vendors to our business during our busiest time of year, November 2018 through February 2019 was our only choice. Finally, the Evol landed on our floor March 5, 2019.

Joe Baginski graduated from Saddle Brook High School in June 2018. He is currently a freshman at The University of Scranton studying Criminology.

Joe is the son of Arlene Baginski, Executive Assistant to Richard Grossbard.

Congratulation is in order to Alexander David, the son of Customer Service Representative, Stephanie Valenti will be graduating from Belleville High School in June 2019.

If you were in the factory during the months of installation, you witnessed a great undertaking of which our Maintenance team, Management team, sub-contractors and vendors alike did a great job under the circumstances of still producing boxes in other areas of the facility while cutting the floor, running power, running waterlines, pouring and forming concrete and installing machine rails.

While the EVOL required a lot of attention from many people, 2018 proved to be exciting for numerous reasons. We continued to focus our

attention on safety as you will learn from reading the associated article from Safety Manager, Andrew Santiago. All employees also need to remember that wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is critical and while safety first for all – safety first for YOU is simply wearing your PPE when you enter the factory floor. We don’t ask, we require and so should you. Set yourself up for a safe day always.

The Continuous Improvement (CI) team made great strides in 2018. As you will read, they completed a number of additional machine centers and introduced new processes at the 618/924 that will help us improve setup times, production speeds and introduce new employees to the machine centers. One of the biggest projects for the team was the Job-1, which insures machine calibrations and most notably, efficient job setup based on the principle of a one box setup. If the machine is properly calibrated, it is very possible the next job is struck in within 1 sheet. Thanks to the CI team for all that they do!

Now in 2019, the other machines in the facility continue to be monitored with daily planning to proactively address the numerous work orders that come in daily. To aid us with planning, we have hired Ned Deshong, a 20 year military veteran who clearly understands structure and the need for it. Ned takes on the role of Maintenance Planner and he will be working side by side with Shawn Parsons (Maintenance Manager) and all PCG employees on May 1th. He has already been making visits on the floor, asking workers, “How is your machine center, and what can I do to help?” We

are looking forward to the impact that Ned will bring to the facility.

Furthermore in 2019, we will complete a 2 year project with Kiwi. For the past 18 months Kiwi has worked diligently with our Production Scheduling/ Planning department lead by George DiIorio for more integration with Kiwi and our FFF production floor systems and machine routings. We are now in a phase which we have looked forward to for some time. This process is helping the tooling department service our production machines with the necessary components needed to run a job and do it in a proactive manner without having to wait for tooling at a machine. Furthermore, doing this will insure the next time the job runs, it is also successful via an inspection process.

With the collaboration of Dominic Deramo (Operations Manager), Matthew Grossbard (CI Manager) and training from Kiwi, an entire new process is being rolled soon. The CI Team has provided a visual work environment in the tooling department and in the factory which Dominic and his team rely on for tooling and support accuracy in a proactive manner. While this implementation touches many areas of the factory and business, we know there will be bumps but we are also confident in the outcome.

We will continue to monitor and polish our skills in 2019. It is an exciting time and this will be a year of excitement. I would like to thank all of our employees and the entire production staff.

Congratulations: Student of the Month Continuous Improvement 5S Systems The Continuous Improvement Team was created in 2017 with the primary goal of implementing a 5S Visual Workplace throughout the plant. Since our inception, we have transformed the following machines into a Visual Workplace: 618, 924, 820, 1228A, Expert Fold, 1628, K7, 1632, and Mckinley.

In 2018, we have continued with our Visual Workplace Implementations, started the Job 1 Machine Calibration program, and implemented Synchronized Change Over.

Job 1 uses a specially designed set of tooling that when set up ensure that the machine is in register and then the machine is calibrated to those setting. This has greatly reduced the number of boxes and time required on a set up as we strive for our ultimate goal of a 1 box set-up.

Synchronized Set Up starts with diagramming the set up process, analyzing who does what during the set up, then redefining it to eliminate wasted movement and decrease set up time. This process is done through collaboration between the CI team, Supervisors, and the Operators and Assistants on the machine. Once the analysis is completed and a new

set up process has been agreed upon, then it is formalized and given out to the crews. This will ensure that the Set up Process going forward will be done in a consistent and efficient manner.

As we all know, change is never easy, but with a lot of hard work and dedication by the CI Team, Plant Superintendents, Supervisors, and the Employees of PCG, we can definitely see the benefits of a Continuous Improvement – 5S system.

The Programs listed above have led to improvements in the workplace with cleanliness, accountability, quality, and production. It is a continuous process and over the past year we have received 65 Process Improvement Forms from the employees on the floor and 56 of them have been implemented.

As 2019 is upon we are working on the Visual Workplace for the Support/Tooling Department. This is major undertaking and we will be happy to update you on our progress in the next edition of The Fluted Sheets.

Sixteen year old, Sean Glassett participated in the Tim Tebow Foundation Night to Shine at Cornerstone Christian Church in Wyckoff NJ. It was an incredible night that brought together 200 volunteers, local businesses, and the special needs community to give Special Kids their own “Prom”. Every participant was crowned King or Queen of the prom. Sean is the son of Customer Service Representative, Ellen Glassett.

Soriah Gomez, the granddaughter of Customer Service Representative, Saray Gomez celebrated her 4th birthday on 1/3/19.

ENGAGEMENT Larry Grossbard and Michelle Cabanilla met each other 24 years ago while Michelle worked for President Container from 1994 to 2000.

In 2008, he reached out to her and asked her out on a date, and the rest as they say, is history!

After 10 years of dating, he felt it was time to take their relationship to the next level.

So on November 24, 2018, joined by their children, Larry asked Michelle to marry him.

Thankfully the answer was YES! No wedding date has been set as they are enjoying their engagement.

What’s New Within The Quality Control Department?

President Container Group’s Quality Department consists of a few hard working individuals who are continuously looking for new ways to achieve a higher level of service and product. Their dedication is evident by the amount of satisfied customers PCGS has obtained.

Not only does the Quality Department check each carton as they are being run at their respective machine centers, they also conduct paper and starch testing, monitor process temperatures, test completed products as well as train/ coach both new and existing employees within our department. It is also our responsibility to make sure that all departments are following the correct and current guidelines.

One of the newest certifications PCG is working towards is, Safe Quality (SQF).

The Safe Quality Foodto(SQF) 5SFood Visual Workplace progress date: Program is a rigorous and credible food safety and quality program that is recognized by retailers, brand owners, food service providers, as well as the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), world-wide.

Executive Administrative Assistant to Richie Grossbard, Arlene Baginski and her husband, Jerry celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on November 14, 2018. They were married at Assumption Church in Wood-Ridge, NJ on November 14, 1998.

On a personal note from our department, our Quality Manager Assistant, Ivy Holmberg-Scank welcomed her second baby Lincoln who was born on February 18, 2019 weighing in a 12lbs, 22 ½” long. We welcome baby Lincoln to the PCG family.

The SQF family food safety and quality codes are designed to meet industry, customer, and regulatory requirements for all sectors of the food supply chair from the farm, all the way to the retail stores. Our customers have encouraged us to become SQF certified and we look forward to the new SQF certification and continuous growth of our company. You will hear more about the process as we progress.

April 2018 Family Night @ Dave & Busters Wayne, NJ

Our Design team at President Container created a 55 pound U.S. Flag made out of 100% corrugated paper. It is large in size at 72” x 34” x 2” with 195 pieces of corrugated strips glued to create the stripes.

The 50 stars & the boards were painted, aged and sanded to give that 50 year aged look. The initial design concept came from Dave Distel. The entire flag is made out of ECT 32 C Kraft and C Flute single face.

Each of the 13 stripes has 15 pieces of corrugated glued together, alternating the corrugation direction for every glued piece. This creates a dramatic visual effect when viewing from different angles.

Each stripe is also on a different wave, which makes it appear as its blowing in the wind. The blue field and stars are also on a wave, mounted to single face.

All of the pieces were cut and put together by Eddie Garcia. Stop by the Design office in Moonachie if you haven’t already seen how cool and great this looks. The flag is enormous, very detailed and the colors are spot on.

AROUND PCG Eating Healthy with Wellness Wednesday Dear All, As the New Year has arrived, people create all kinds of New Year’s resolutions. These resolutions might be about nutrition, losing weight or quitting smoking. There is no time like the present to get healthy and start eating right, exercising and/or quitting smoking. PCG would like to help you reach these types of goals in 2019!!!

OFFICE OUTINGS After thirty plus years of working for President Container, Marge Morath retired in March 2019. She said goodbye to her colleagues and friends at a retirement party hosted in her honor at Segovia Meson Restaurant in Carlstadt, NJ. We wish Margie well as she is excited to spend some quality time with her family.

In an effort to help you, PCG will be kicking off a Wellness Program in 2019. To introduce the program we will be providing fresh fruit as a healthy snack on one Wednesday of every month (see dates below), which will be called “Wellness Wednesday”. Along with the fresh fruit each month, you will also see flyers about health and wellness topics (i.e. snacking healthy, cholesterol, etc.) on the fruit carts, as well as an email with recipes of healthy meals.

AROUND PCG Eating Healthy with Wellness Wednesday Dear All, As the New Year has arrived, people create all kinds of New Year’s resolutions. These resolutions might be about nutrition, losing weight or quitting smoking. There is no time like the present to get healthy and start eating right, exercising and/or quitting smoking. PCG would like to help you reach these types of goals in 2019!!!

OFFICE OUTINGS After thirty plus years of working for President Container, Marge Morath retired in March 2019. She said goodbye to her colleagues and friends at a retirement party hosted in her honor at Segovia Meson Restaurant in Carlstadt, NJ. We wish Margie well as she is excited to spend some quality time with her family.

In an effort to help you, PCG will be kicking off a Wellness Program in 2019. To introduce the program we will be providing fresh fruit as a healthy snack on one Wednesday of every month (see dates below), which will be called “Wellness Wednesday”. Along with the fresh fruit each month, you will also see flyers about health and wellness topics (i.e. snacking healthy, cholesterol, etc.) on the fruit carts, as well as an email with recipes of healthy meals.

April 2018 Family Night @ Dave & Busters Wayne, NJ

Our Design team at President Container created a 55 pound U.S. Flag made out of 100% corrugated paper. It is large in size at 72” x 34” x 2” with 195 pieces of corrugated strips glued to create the stripes.

The 50 stars & the boards were painted, aged and sanded to give that 50 year aged look. The initial design concept came from Dave Distel. The entire flag is made out of ECT 32 C Kraft and C Flute single face.

Each of the 13 stripes has 15 pieces of corrugated glued together, alternating the corrugation direction for every glued piece. This creates a dramatic visual effect when viewing from different angles.

Each stripe is also on a different wave, which makes it appear as its blowing in the wind. The blue field and stars are also on a wave, mounted to single face.

All of the pieces were cut and put together by Eddie Garcia. Stop by the Design office in Moonachie if you haven’t already seen how cool and great this looks. The flag is enormous, very detailed and the colors are spot on.

ENGAGEMENT Larry Grossbard and Michelle Cabanilla met each other 24 years ago while Michelle worked for President Container from 1994 to 2000.

In 2008, he reached out to her and asked her out on a date, and the rest as they say, is history!

After 10 years of dating, he felt it was time to take their relationship to the next level.

So on November 24, 2018, joined by their children, Larry asked Michelle to marry him.

Thankfully the answer was YES! No wedding date has been set as they are enjoying their engagement.

What’s New Within The Quality Control Department?

President Container Group’s Quality Department consists of a few hard working individuals who are continuously looking for new ways to achieve a higher level of service and product. Their dedication is evident by the amount of satisfied customers PCGS has obtained.

Not only does the Quality Department check each carton as they are being run at their respective machine centers, they also conduct paper and starch testing, monitor process temperatures, test completed products as well as train/ coach both new and existing employees within our department. It is also our responsibility to make sure that all departments are following the correct and current guidelines.

One of the newest certifications PCG is working towards is, Safe Quality (SQF).

The Safe Quality Foodto(SQF) 5SFood Visual Workplace progress date: Program is a rigorous and credible food safety and quality program that is recognized by retailers, brand owners, food service providers, as well as the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), world-wide.

Executive Administrative Assistant to Richie Grossbard, Arlene Baginski and her husband, Jerry celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on November 14, 2018. They were married at Assumption Church in Wood-Ridge, NJ on November 14, 1998.

On a personal note from our department, our Quality Manager Assistant, Ivy Holmberg-Scank welcomed her second baby Lincoln who was born on February 18, 2019 weighing in a 12lbs, 22 ½” long. We welcome baby Lincoln to the PCG family.

The SQF family food safety and quality codes are designed to meet industry, customer, and regulatory requirements for all sectors of the food supply chair from the farm, all the way to the retail stores. Our customers have encouraged us to become SQF certified and we look forward to the new SQF certification and continuous growth of our company. You will hear more about the process as we progress.

Congratulations: Student of the Month Continuous Improvement 5S Systems The Continuous Improvement Team was created in 2017 with the primary goal of implementing a 5S Visual Workplace throughout the plant. Since our inception, we have transformed the following machines into a Visual Workplace: 618, 924, 820, 1228A, Expert Fold, 1628, K7, 1632, and Mckinley.

In 2018, we have continued with our Visual Workplace Implementations, started the Job 1 Machine Calibration program, and implemented Synchronized Change Over.

Job 1 uses a specially designed set of tooling that when set up ensure that the machine is in register and then the machine is calibrated to those setting. This has greatly reduced the number of boxes and time required on a set up as we strive for our ultimate goal of a 1 box set-up.

Synchronized Set Up starts with diagramming the set up process, analyzing who does what during the set up, then redefining it to eliminate wasted movement and decrease set up time. This process is done through collaboration between the CI team, Supervisors, and the Operators and Assistants on the machine. Once the analysis is completed and a new

set up process has been agreed upon, then it is formalized and given out to the crews. This will ensure that the Set up Process going forward will be done in a consistent and efficient manner.

As we all know, change is never easy, but with a lot of hard work and dedication by the CI Team, Plant Superintendents, Supervisors, and the Employees of PCG, we can definitely see the benefits of a Continuous Improvement – 5S system.

The Programs listed above have led to improvements in the workplace with cleanliness, accountability, quality, and production. It is a continuous process and over the past year we have received 65 Process Improvement Forms from the employees on the floor and 56 of them have been implemented.

As 2019 is upon we are working on the Visual Workplace for the Support/Tooling Department. This is major undertaking and we will be happy to update you on our progress in the next edition of The Fluted Sheets.

Sixteen year old, Sean Glassett participated in the Tim Tebow Foundation Night to Shine at Cornerstone Christian Church in Wyckoff NJ. It was an incredible night that brought together 200 volunteers, local businesses, and the special needs community to give Special Kids their own “Prom”. Every participant was crowned King or Queen of the prom. Sean is the son of Customer Service Representative, Ellen Glassett.

Soriah Gomez, the granddaughter of Customer Service Representative, Saray Gomez celebrated her 4th birthday on 1/3/19.

2018 was a busy year for many of us and one of great accomplishments. We would like to congratulate all of the 2018 graduates of The President Container Group family including Zachary Edelman, Joe Baginski, Janabi Castillo and soon to be 2019 graduate, Alexander David.

May 2018 Zachary Edelman attended Wagner College in Staten Island, NY where he graduated from a 5-year accelerated BS/Master’s Physician Assistant program. Zachary’s medical mission trips to Guatemala and Peru, where he provided care to those in remote, underdeveloped villages, convinced him that deformity correction was his ideal field of practice. He is the son of Sales Account Executive, Michael Edelman.

June 2018 Janabi Castillo, graduated from Garfield High School in 2018 and she was in the top 20 of her class. She’s currently attending Bergen Community College.

When she graduates, she plans to become a General Surgeon. Janabi is the daughter of PIP Customer Service Representative, Janeybi Farington.

We determined prior to our search that the 1228B was no longer a part of our future plans due to its age and ability.

So, we moved it and relocated the 618 in its place. Relocating the 618 freed up space to install the EVOL. It may sound easy but it was not. The planning began in May 2018. The execution of the plan and coordination of vendors to our business during our busiest time of year, November 2018 through February 2019 was our only choice. Finally, the Evol landed on our floor March 5, 2019.

Joe Baginski graduated from Saddle Brook High School in June 2018. He is currently a freshman at The University of Scranton studying Criminology.

Joe is the son of Arlene Baginski, Executive Assistant to Richard Grossbard.

Congratulation is in order to Alexander David, the son of Customer Service Representative, Stephanie Valenti will be graduating from Belleville High School in June 2019.

If you were in the factory during the months of installation, you witnessed a great undertaking of which our Maintenance team, Management team, sub-contractors and vendors alike did a great job under the circumstances of still producing boxes in other areas of the facility while cutting the floor, running power, running waterlines, pouring and forming concrete and installing machine rails.

While the EVOL required a lot of attention from many people, 2018 proved to be exciting for numerous reasons. We continued to focus our

attention on safety as you will learn from reading the associated article from Safety Manager, Andrew Santiago. All employees also need to remember that wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is critical and while safety first for all – safety first for YOU is simply wearing your PPE when you enter the factory floor. We don’t ask, we require and so should you. Set yourself up for a safe day always.

The Continuous Improvement (CI) team made great strides in 2018. As you will read, they completed a number of additional machine centers and introduced new processes at the 618/924 that will help us improve setup times, production speeds and introduce new employees to the machine centers. One of the biggest projects for the team was the Job-1, which insures machine calibrations and most notably, efficient job setup based on the principle of a one box setup. If the machine is properly calibrated, it is very possible the next job is struck in within 1 sheet. Thanks to the CI team for all that they do!

Now in 2019, the other machines in the facility continue to be monitored with daily planning to proactively address the numerous work orders that come in daily. To aid us with planning, we have hired Ned Deshong, a 20 year military veteran who clearly understands structure and the need for it. Ned takes on the role of Maintenance Planner and he will be working side by side with Shawn Parsons (Maintenance Manager) and all PCG employees on May 1th. He has already been making visits on the floor, asking workers, “How is your machine center, and what can I do to help?” We

are looking forward to the impact that Ned will bring to the facility.

Furthermore in 2019, we will complete a 2 year project with Kiwi. For the past 18 months Kiwi has worked diligently with our Production Scheduling/ Planning department lead by George DiIorio for more integration with Kiwi and our FFF production floor systems and machine routings. We are now in a phase which we have looked forward to for some time. This process is helping the tooling department service our production machines with the necessary components needed to run a job and do it in a proactive manner without having to wait for tooling at a machine. Furthermore, doing this will insure the next time the job runs, it is also successful via an inspection process.

With the collaboration of Dominic Deramo (Operations Manager), Matthew Grossbard (CI Manager) and training from Kiwi, an entire new process is being rolled soon. The CI Team has provided a visual work environment in the tooling department and in the factory which Dominic and his team rely on for tooling and support accuracy in a proactive manner. While this implementation touches many areas of the factory and business, we know there will be bumps but we are also confident in the outcome.

We will continue to monitor and polish our skills in 2019. It is an exciting time and this will be a year of excitement. I would like to thank all of our employees and the entire production staff.

The synchronized changeover and one box set ups, in conjunction with production management, have reduced set up times on the 618 from a high of 25 minutes in 2017, to 17 minutes in 2018, to 12 minutes in 2019. It shows what can be done when we pay attention to the details. This same diligence will be applied to the other production machinery.

In 2019 the Quality and Safety departments will join forces as we embark on a very difficult road to achieve our SQF (Safe Quality Food) certification.

This is a major undertaking which will take about 18 months to accomplish but when achieved, it will enable PCG to stand out amongst its peers.

Over the past few years we have increased our usage of KIWI â&#x20AC;&#x201C; plant scheduling software - and have seen very positive results. We are continuing this effort in 2019 and are con-

fident we will realize additional plant efficiencies and improvements that will continue to help increase our productivity. With the additional production and volume, our efforts will also be concentrated on utilizing the kiwi software in our shipping department which will provide them with many new tools, assist in improved scheduling of deliveries, and other opportunities to help that department achieve greater results.

In 2018 Michael Scudiero joined PCG as VP of Sales. Michael has over 30 years of experience in the corrugated industry and has proven to be a great addition. While we welcome Michael, we would like to wish Marge Morath all the best as she enters her retirement.

Marge joined the company in 1988 and over the next 30 years , she has become a staple in the PCG family.

Our President Industrial Products

division continues to grow. It has been 2 years since the major acquisition of Cornell Paper Products and the sales of this product line continue to increase.

In 2018, PIP has added the capability of printing box sealing tape in house.

We can print up to 3 colors in addition to flood coating. While we always provided printed tape, this enables us to be more flexible and competitive. 2019 is shaping up to be a great year for PIP as it is our goal to cross-sell all of the PCG customers.

While 2019 is looking to be a very challenging year it is also a very exciting year. We would like to thank all of our employees for their hard work and dedication and look forward to seeing everyone at the Employee Appreciation Day schedule for June 29th at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

In February, we held a small surprise party for Billing Representative, Amanda Carrion to celebrate the upcoming birth of her first child. Amanda and her family welcomed her son, Ulysses on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 6:15pm weighing, 6 lbs. 4 oz. and 18 ž inches long.

It is truly amazing what has happen within the last 18 months in the Middletown facility. When you look around the production floor, you see the obvious changes.

In early 2018, Larry Grossbard, Matthew Grossbard, Brian Sizer and I, Rich Goldberg visited several manufacturing facilities to find our next machine. After an extensive search, we chose to purchase the EVOL 115 from Mitsubishi. Choosing the manufacturer was an easy decision, but deciding where to install the EVOL, would require a creative and strategic plan.

2018 has come and gone in a flash and once again we have had

great success and achievements. We have completed the installation of the K7 and are fully operational with the die cutter that prints the inside and outside of the sheet at the same time, expanded our Continuous Improvement (CI) – 5S program from the visual side to the production side, added new personnel in key areas, and are very excited for the startup of another new high speed Flexo folder gluer for 2019.

Once again the 4th quarter proved to be very challenging, as we were very busy and over committed. As usual, our employees stepped up and work together, to satisfy as many customers as possible.

We would like to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication.

The foundation of continuing to invest in capital and personnel to improve our efficiencies, quality, and service has never been more important than it is today. 2019 is off to a very challenging start.

A new “Super Plant” along with other additional capacity has been added to our local marketplace. Both of these competitors are hungry to fill their plants causing downward pressure on pricing. It is imperative that we continue to improve our operation in all facets of the business.

The New Evol FFG is the “Cadillac” of the industry. This 4 color 45 x 115” machine will run boxes at a speed of 18,000/hr. – 4 times faster than the machine that it is replacing. This will help us remain competitive in a very competitive market place.

The CI Team is completing and sustaining the visual workplace throughout the plant and in 2019 they are concentrating their efforts on synchronized changeover, one box set ups, and reimaging the tooling department. >> CONT. PAGE 2
