Salina Presbyterian Manor issues Art is Ageless® call for entries Independent living residents Lewis and Gladys Reid met 75 years ago, and they still appreciate their life together.

Sweethearts feature: Lewis and Gladys Reid The story of Lewis and Gladys Reid’s 72-year marriage began in a classroom at the College of Emporia in Emporia, Kan., in 1942.

A native of Howard, Kan., Lewis served in the Navy immediately after high school. Gladys was born in Westmoreland, Kan., but grew up in Osage City. The Reids became friends before the cautious Gladys agreed to dating. They discovered they got along well, both as friends and sweethearts. After a year of college, Gladys moved to Topeka to take a job with the Kansas Corporation Commission, and Lewis transferred to the REID - continued on page 5

Artists age 65 and older are sought for the annual Art is Ageless® juried exhibit sponsored by Salina Presbyterian Manor March 3 – 7, 2021. This year, due to COVID-19, the exhibit will be at the Salina Art Center, 242 S. Santa Fe. Entries of artistic works will be accepted from any area artist who is 65 years of age or older to exhibit and/or compete for an opportunity to be featured in the 2022 Art is Ageless calendar. Entries are due to Salina Presbyterian Manor by 5 p.m. Feb. 19. Contact Cathy Boos at 785-825-1366 to arrange a drop-off time. Artists may choose to enter works for exhibit only.
