Nora Winslow finds PATH to recovery ®
For a time after Nora Winslow broke her femur in April 2018, she believed she’d only get around with a wheelchair. Parsons Presbyterian Manor will be hosting an Alzheimer’s Awareness Screening Day with Aegis Therapies® from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. November 12. The screenings are conducted individually, and slots are limited. To sign up for the screening, RSVP to Sloan Dwyer by calling 620421-1250 or through email at sdwyer@gmail.com. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, screenings will include questions about lifestyle and diet, as well as laboratory work to make a determination and evaluate a need for additional testing. It’s a good idea to bring information about any medication you’re taking and to be prepared to visit about any symptoms you may be experiencing. Screening is important because some symptoms that could mirror Alzheimer’s sometimes have a root cause in other underlying health factors, such as depression, untreated sleep apnea, vitamin deficiencies and medication side effects. u
