Parsons Presbyterian Manor Receives 2019 Customer Experience Award from Pinnacle Quality Insight Parsons Presbyterian Manor is proud to announce that they are the recipient of Pinnacle Quality Insight’s 2019 Customer Experience AwardTM. The Customer Experience Award is given to senior living communities that score in the top 15-percent of the nation in resident satisfaction surveys conducted by Pinnacle Quality Insight for 12 consecutive months.

Parsons Presbyterian Manor received the award for skilled nursing.

Over the course of 2018, a sampling of Presbyterian Manor’s residents and their families participated in monthly telephone interviews that include open-ended questions, as well the opportunity to rate Presbyterian Manor in specific categories.

“The Customer Experience Award affirms our staff’s dedication to our mission – to provide quality senior services guided by Christian values,” said Meagen Pegues, executive director. “This award reflects our residents’ satisfaction with our efforts to live out our mission.”

Parsons Presbyterian Manor qualified for the award in skilled nursing. The community achieved best in class ratings, qualifying for the award in the categories of cleanliness and willingness to recommend to others.

Through Pinnacle Quality Insight’s monthly phone surveys, Parsons Presbyterian Manor has gathered real-time survey results to gain a better understanding of the residents’ needs and make improvements when necessary, continuing a 45-year emphasis on ensuring the individual needs of every resident are met. u

The crisp air rolls in, and I am more than thrilled. Fall is easily my favorite season.

Often people say, “Fall is about to just show us just how beautiful it is to let things go.” I see it and hear it very frequently during this time of year. I think it is important for us to remember it is okay to let things go, but we must be on board for the change too.

My little guy is officially one year old, and I can’t wait to start all the “new” beautiful things with him this fall season. We are going to hit the pumpkin patches, paint on a pumpkin, hay rack ride, fall into a pile of leaves, and many more fall favorites.

Times have changed for me, when it comes to the “opening” season of all the holidays. When I say changed, I mean for the best in every way. I can’t wait to watch “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” with Sutton this year. Fall is a favorite of mine for many reasons but sharing it with him is by far my favorite thing of all.

Try your best this fall season to be okay with things altering in your life and always know there is something coming your way, better than you expected. Happy Fall y’all!! u

“Lunch and Learn” teaches participants about their true colors Participants at the August Chamber lunch and learn were sorted into their “True Colors of Communication.” The presentation was led by Parsons Presbyterian Manor’s Sloan Dwyer and Maegen Pegues, who also hosted the event.

“This was the most fun lunch and learn yet,” said Jodeci Turner, Parsons Chamber of Commerce executive director.

Participants learned how they and others react in certain situations, based on their communication style, and worked through different workplace scenarios to practice with the new knowledge.

By identifying your personality (and the personalities of others), True Colors International training provides insights into different motivations, actions and communication approaches.

Meet social services director Babette Collins The social services department at Parsons Presbyterian Manor is important in creating the most person-centered care for residents to ensure they have the best quality of life possible.

As the social services director, Babette Collins manages staff, practices and procedures to ensure the department and community is meeting the dayto-day needs of residents. She said staff members focus on resident empowerment, selfdetermination and resident-centered care.

Supportive staff and management also make Babette’s job easier.

“The great staff and leadership team we have here not only makes my department successful, but makes it a great place to work,” she said. u Babette Collins, the social services director for Parson Presbyterian Manor.

Some of Babette’s duties include completing social histories, cognitive and mood assessment, care planning, collaborating with other service providers, discharge planning and referrals.

Babette said the residents are her reason for working hard each day.

“Providing the best quality of life for our residents is what makes me love my job so much,” she said.

She’s grateful to be working with such a dedicated staff.

“Having a great group of staff that care for our residents is a reward,” she said. “The staff are hardworking and caring individuals that give all they can to provide the best quality care for our residents, which makes my job even easier.”
