Celebrating a zero-deficiency survey
Residents say goodbye to Mike Rajewski
Executive Director Mike Rajewski says a few words at his going-away dinner. At last month’s Independent Living Resident Council meeting, Marketing Director Kurt Lampe announced that Mike Rajewski, executive director, would be leaving Manor of the Plains so he could be closer to his family.
Manor of the Plains’ employees celebrate their recent zero-deficiency survey over a meal. Earlier this summer, members of the PMMA’s leadership and community support teams celebrated Manor of the Plains’ zero-deficiency survey with the community. For additional photos, see page 4.
The residents have adjusted very well with Mike and insisted that they have a potluck dinner for him before he left. The residents had a great time, and Mike was very touched by their generosity and acceptance of him while at Manor of the Plains.

Local scouts work together to fix garden beds, earn awards You may have noticed the garden project taking place on our campus. It all started last year. Dave Harmon, maintenance supervisor, knew Misty Cole from the Girls Scouts was working to earn a Girl Scout Gold Award and needed to complete a community service project. He told her about our raised garden beds and the work that needed done to repair or replace them. Misty came to Manor of the Plains in late October 2018 to decide if this was something she could do, and she decided the answer was, “Yes!” Since then, she has recruited Allen Richter, a Boy Scout, to redo the watering system as he works towards earning his Eagle Scout ranking. Together, they hope to have all the raised garden beds done this fall. Misty kicked-off this project by raising money for the wood she will purchase. She had one rummage sale and is planning two more. We will keep posting updates so everyone can see the progress these two wonderful young adults are making. A special thank you to Lisa Montoya, assistant activity director, and the residents of Manor of the Plains for helping make this happen.
