Esparza takes on another new role Since coming to Manor of the Plains in 2017, Tehren Esparza has worn numerous hats, ranging from day-shift nurse to Tehren Esparza assisted living/home health director. Recently, Tehren transitioned into yet another new role—case manager. “My current responsibilities are to assist with Medicare Part A ‘skilled’ admissions,” said Tehren. “This includes establishing rapport with the resident and their family, and working with both nursing and therapy on the resident’s end goal, which is usually going home.” Prior to joining the staff at Manor of the Plains, Tehren worked in retirement communities across the state, and has come to appreciate the work environment and residentfocused approach at Manor of the Plains. “I enjoy our teamwork and the dedication our staff has toward our residents,” said Tehren. Away from work, Tehren also is busy. She and her husband of three years are proud parents of a five-monthold daughter.

Dodge City artists among Art is Ageless® masterpiece level winners Five winning artists in Manor of the Plains’ annual Art is Ageless® juried competition will be featured in the 2019 Art is Ageless Calendar produced by Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America. “My Country tis of Thee,” a painting by Joanne Clarke; “Deer,” a drawing by Mary Ford; “3 Girls,” a painting by Mary Anne Hendrix; “Welcome,” a painting in the Christmas category by Linnette Jones; and “Round Table Topper,” fiber art by Pat Tieben will appear in the calendar when it is released this fall. In addition, “Hodgeman County Barn,” a sculpture by William D. Herman, will be featured on one of the Art is Ageless greeting cards. Works by local winners are automatically entered into a masterpiece-level competition with winning art from 16 other PMMA communities. More than 180 entries were received for this year’s masterpiece competition. The winners are featured in the Art is Ageless calendar and greeting cards. ART, continued on page 3
