Employees receive education assistance Two employees at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor have received assistance to continue their education through PMMA’s (Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America’s) Employee Education Assistance program. Samantha Flickinger, CNA Samantha Flickinger is planning on using the scholarship she received to take summer classes. “I was inspired to apply for the scholarship when I was told that I was qualified. At first, I didn’t think I had been working at the Presbyterian Manor long enough. I have applied for scholarships before but had never gotten one,” said Samantha. Samantha is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and has worked at ASSISTANCE – continued on page 4

For resident Sandra Collins, Thanksgiving is all about family, turkey and traditions. “We did it the same way year after year. My mother and my husband’s mother really never did the Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners. It was our grandmothers that had done it. So, when they got too old, I took it over and did it for a lot of years until I could hand it off to my daughter. Now one of my granddaughters does it,” said Sandra.
