Get to know our Aegis Therapies® team Local Lawrence artists among Art is Ageless® masterpiece level winners Two winning artists in Lawrence Presbyterian Manor’s annual Art is Ageless® juried competition will be featured in the 2019 Art is Ageless Calendar produced by Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America. “Welcome,” a painting by Charlotte Neese and “Meditation,” a sculpture by Linda Troxel will appear in the calendar when it is released this fall. Works by local winners are automatically entered into a masterpiece level competition with winning art from 16 other PMMA communities. More than 180 entries were received for this year’s masterpiece competition. The winners are featured in the Art is Ageless calendar and greeting cards. “We are inspired by the talent in our senior community, and are thrilled we have the opportunity to share it and inspire others through the Art is Ageless calendar and greeting cards,” said Angela Fonseca, marketing director, WINNERS, continued on page 3

As we celebrate Rehabilitation Week September 16 to 22, we want to recognize the team members at Aegis Therapies® who are responsible for providing life-changing services for our residents. Carmen Crandall, physical therapy assistant Carmen has been part of the Lawrence Presbyterian Manor therapy team since January 1, 2018. She has more than 30 years of experience. Carmen has always loved working in long-term care and home health because of the people she gets to work with and their interesting stories. In her spare time, Carmen serves in many volunteer positions at church, and loves to antique shop, golf, visit local wineries and help Carmen Crandall out on her family farm in Doniphan county. She is very involved in the county 4-H program, is currently the president of the county extension executive program, and serves on the K-State Research and Extension State Advisory Council. Carmen has two grown children, a new grandchild and a hedgehog named Cupcake. Amanda Ames, occupational therapist Amanda joined Aegis Therapies one year ago, and spends her days on the therapy team evaluating and treating residents in short-term rehab and longterm care. She assesses their impairments affecting daily activities and quality of life, and provides an individualized treatment plan to address those impairments and other functional deficits in order Amanda Ames to increase a resident’s independence.
