We’re honored to recognize our Administrative Services Assistant Bonnie Russell this month, with Administrative Professionals Day celebrated on April 26. She’s been at Fulton Presbyterian Manor since December 2016, and she brings with her a lifetime of service experience in both the workplace and community.

Her most recent position was at the Missouri Department Bonnie Russell, Fulton Presbyterian Manor Administrative of Agriculture, where she Services Assistant. retired in July 2015 after 26 years of service. She was the administrative assistant for the state entomologist in the plant pest control bureau of the Plant Industries Division. She was involved with several professional committees: she was the department’s liaison for the Charitable Campaign for a number of years and event planner for several national and international professional events .

She’s also served in various leadership and volunteer positions in the community.

“As a volunteer I have held several professional scout leader positions, including Scout Leader, Committee Chairperson, District Chairperson and Den Leader Retreat Scoutmaster, and a lead organizer of a weekend long training event for leaders from multiple states,” said Bonnie. “I’m also active in my home church, serving on several committees like theYouth Council, and I was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary before moving to Fulton.”

When she’s not busy at work or with community activities, Bonnie enjoys the company of her family, including three children and 10 grandchildren. She enjoys hobbies such as reading, crafting, making beaded jewelry and RV traveling.

Bonnie enjoys meeting new people and learning new things, and her optimistic spirit brings hope to many.

“Life is like a box of chocolates, and every day is a new adventure. Some days are great and some leave a horrible taste in your mouth. God gave us the gift of choice, so choose wisely, hold tight to your faith and know you are never alone.”

Art is Ageless is a copyrighted program of Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America. For the competition, works must have been completed in the past five years. Started in 1980, Art is Ageless is an extension of PMMA’s wellness programs, which focus on mental, physical, social and spiritual health.

The Art is Ageless program encourages Fulton Presbyterian Manor residents and other area seniors to express their creativity through its annual competition, as well as art classes, musical and dramatic events, educational opportunities and current events discussions throughout the year.
