It is amazing to realize that 21 years have passed since Fort Scott Presbyterian Village opened in 1994. What a wonderful impact it has had on Fort Scott and Bourbon County, as well as the quality of life for seniors. Presbyterian Village has been home to an estimated 400 individuals during the past nearly quarter century. One of the earliest purchases in the life of Presbyterian Village was a 1994 Plymouth minivan. This vehicle has been in service for 21 years and has traveled thousands of miles. Today with frequent repairs, it continues to safely serve the residents. However, we know that this vehicle will need to be retired and replaced.

The minivan is used to transport residents to cultural and educational events, shopping excursions, doctor appointments and the hospital. It also is used to pick up supplies for Presbyterian Village and to provide inhome care to seniors within city limits in their homes. This van makes more than 3,600 trips per year to various Fort Scott locations, as well as the surrounding areas. Each week more than 75 transportation service trips are made to serve our Carol George gets a lift from Mandy Lucas, C.N.A., in the tried seniors. and true Plymouth minivan Presbyterian Village has owned for

21 years. It’s now time to retire this vehicle and purchase a new one for many more years of service.
