Woman finds strength, support at Fort Scott Presbyterian Village
Fort Scott Presbyterian Village will start 2020 right with a full week of activities highlighting everything new. All sessions will take place at 3 p.m. in the community room. Monday, Jan. 27: Learn about new household technology, including the Roomba, Alexa and apps that help you monitor your home from your cell phone. Tuesday, Jan. 28: Explore today’s hottest kitchen item, the Instapot. Learn about all the ways this new tool can be used to save time and effort when cooking. Wednesday, Jan. 29: Bill Marti with the Bourbon County Sheriff’s Department will discuss body cameras and other new law enforcement technology. Thursday, Jan. 30: Join us to learn about the Mirror, an exciting new way to exercise without leaving your home.

Colleen Lockwood, a lifetime resident of Fort Scott, Kan., came to stay at Fort Scott Presbyterian Village assisted living community for a short-term stay after a brief hospitalization last summer. Little did she know she would be surrounded by old and new friends who would encourage her each step of the way.

While at Presbyterian Village, Colleen received physical and occupational therapy a few days each week. Colleen worked with the staff to set goals to keep her on track to return to her home after building strength and confidence. PATH – continued on page 2
