Creativity leads to friendships regardless of age
Carol George has always had a love for the arts and making things with her hands, even as a young girl in 4-H. She loves to cook, sew, garden, make graphics free hand and with a computer, and basically anything using her imagination with color and creativity. After graduating from Pittsburg State University in graphic arts, Carol Erica is learning how to use a sewing machine this summer, made logos and and Carol George is helping her. other art and advertising projects for various companies for many years. After retirement, Carol has not slowed down using her creativity. All around her enjoy her creative gifts at Presbyterian Village where she lives.
After meeting 12-year old Erica last summer, they quickly became creative friends as they worked on hand sewing lessons. This summer, Carol began sewing lessons with Erica using the machine. Erica dreams of becoming a fashion designer when she grows up, and Carol is thrilled to lead her in such a passion. Sewing a skirt using her school colors, Erica entered her sewing project that she completed with Carol in the county fair. Erica’s one request was that Carol be able to come to the fair with her to share the moment together.
