Farmington Presbyterian Manor recently announced the 2021 winners of the annual Art is Ageless® juried competition on the community Facebook page, Facebook.com/FarmingtonPresbyterainManor. “We are honored to exhibit artwork by seniors,” said Keely Jameson, marketing director. “Art is Ageless is unique in featuring only the works of artists age 65 and older. In the Legal and Financial Planning for Alzheimer’s Disease program, you will have a chance to learn about important legal and financial issues to consider, how to put plans in place, and how to access legal and financial resources near you. Join Farmington Presbyterian Manor for Legal and Financial Planning for Alzheimer’s, a free virtual event, at 3 p.m. June 16 to explore information for families and individuals dealing with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. Topics covered will include making legal plans to fit your needs, legal documents you’ll need and what they mean for all of you, finding legal and financial assistance, government programs that can help pay for care, tax deductions and credits, and practical strategies for making a long-term plan of care. Registration is handled through the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Missouri. The event is one in a series of webinars exploring Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and some of the most important topics of concern to caregivers and those who are experiencing the disease. From February to November, we’ll explore a different topic each month through virtual presentations led by the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Missouri.
The series is part of Farmington Presbyterian Manor’s Just Ask lifelong learning program, featuring topics and speakers of interest to seniors and their adult children. Future topics include understanding and responding to dementia-related behaviors and how to have difficult conversations about driving, finances and more. Art is Ageless is a copyrighted program of Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America. For the competition, works must have been completed in the past five years. Started in 1980, Art is Ageless is an extension of Presbyterian Manors of MidAmerica’s wellness programs, which focus on mental, physical, social and spiritual health.
