Banquet honors active volunteers On April 19, Farmington Presbyterian Manor hosted its annual volunteer banquet to recognize individuals who selflessly donated their time and talents to help meet the needs of residents during the past 12 months. For Karen Crews, nursing is both a calling and a reward at PMMA When she was younger, Karen Crews would often sit and listen to her grandmother tell stories about her life as a nurse. Today, Karen is an RN supervisor at Farmington Presbyterian Manor, where she provides rehabilitation services to individuals who have recently been released from the hospital after a surgery or illness. “My job is to assess our patients on a daily basis and monitor them for any complications,” said Karen. “I make sure they are making progress and keep them from being re-admitted to the hospital. My goal is to help them return home as soon as possible.” KAREN, continued on page 4
