Emporia artists are Art is Ageless® masterpiece winners Several winning artists in Emporia Presbyterian Manor’s annual Art is Ageless® juried competition will be featured in the 2018 Art is Ageless Calendar produced by Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America. “Red Bird Haven,” a Christmas entry by George Walters; “Gladiolus Flowers,” a painting by Paul Johnston; and “Against the Odds,” a painting by Kate Rhoads, will appear in the calendar when it is released this fall. Works by local winners are entered into a masterpiece level competition with winning art from 16 other PMMA communities.The winners are featured in the Art is Ageless calendar and notecards. Saying farewell: Deb Thornton retires Best wishes to Health Services Director Deb Thornton on her retirement! Deb came to Emporia Presbyterian Manor in June 2014 from Newman Regional Health. Deb graduated from Newman Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1989 and went on to earn a bachelor of science in nursing from Tabor College. “We are grateful for Deb’s three years of service as Health Services Director,” said Executive Director Susan Siepelmeier. “She has demonstrated a caring heart coupled with humor to provide quality health services in the Presbyterian Manor family.” THORNTON, continued on page 2
