“I am happy with housekeeping services and my maintenance guys always get the job done,” said Kathryn Roblee. Resident Beth Brown likewise expressed her appreciation for the EVS crew. “I like all of the maintenance guys. They are personable and are wonderful to be around,” she said. “Housekeeping is very thorough, and they do a great job.”
Ellen Rothwell, housekeeping services assistant How long have you been with PMMA? A total of 3.5 years, two separate times. What’s your favorite part of your work at PMMA? The residents are like family. And joking around with bosses and co-workers.
Can you share a special memory? One of the assisted living residents is a character. She is one that I talk to a lot. We enjoy conversation. What would you want others to know about you? I love to draw. I enjoy spending time with my family and taking my dogs for walks. u

Joseph Cassity, maintenance tech How long have you been with PMMA? Nine years. What’s your favorite part of your work at PMMA? The people. Everyone is a big family here. Can you share a special memory? A resident helped with my family history and helped map my family tree from Ireland. It was very special and it stuck with me. What would you want others to know about you? I enjoy listening to music and being outdoors.

Why is Thanksgiving celebrated with turkey? Turkey has become the traditional Thanksgiving fare, but did you know that it was at one time a rare treat? During the 1830s, an eight- to ten-pound bird cost a day’s wages! Even though turkeys are much more affordable today, they still remain a celebratory symbol of bounty. In fact, astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin ate roast turkey in foil packets for their first meal on the Moon. u
