COVID-19 updates continue DECEMBER 2020

Get the latest updates on visitation status, ongoing safety measures and PMMA’s response to COVID-19 on your community website, ClayCenterPresbyterianManor.org/ covid-19. Visitation status is updated weekly on Mondays for the week ending the following Sunday.

Visitation status is updated as needed in between due to outbreak or health department orders.

You can also send your loved one a digital Christmas Card from our Art is Ageless® card collection. Email the card to your campus contact for delivery, or send directly to your loved one via their email address.

Tiger Chorale brings joyful sounds to Clay Center Presbyterian Manor Our residents love visits from the talented young people in our community, but those visits have been curtailed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

When Clay County Community High School’s Tiger Chorale received approval to perform at our community, the residents were beyond thrilled. The concert was held outside, with cooperating weather conditions that made the day perfect for a performance from talented youth in the Clay Center community.

Resident Donna Girton was instrumental in arranging the Tiger Chorale performance. Her great-granddaughter Ella is a member.

With cases on the rise, we remind you to practice basic safety measures to keep yourselves and others safe from COVID-19. Whenever you leave your residence or are in the presence of others, wear a cloth mask or face covering over your nose and mouth, wash your hands frequently with soap and water or alcohol-based gel, and maintain a safe social distance of six feet or more between yourself and others with whom you do not live.

Practicing these simple safety measures can help stop the spread of COVID-19. u

The Washington Headliners were founded in 1951 and currently boast 28 members.

Walk with Aegis event celebrates active living Clay Center Presbyterian Manor’s partnership with Aegis Therapies® is a rewarding endeavor that helps enrich our community as well the broader Clay Center community.

Recently, the Clay Center therapy department held a “Walk with Aegis” event to celebrate Active Aging Week. The week celebrates and encourages health, wellness and active living at any age.

Aegis Restorative Aide Donna Crawford led the week’s events, which featured a variety of fun activities with residents. These included specialized group exercise classes, walks around the Oberg

The assisted living exercise group with Dana really enjoyed a class all together again. There are big smiles behind those masks, and Anica, our activities director, loved picking up new moves to use in her “Sit and Be Fit” class.

Garden “track,” as well as a little late season tomato picking, just to name a few.

Dana leads a high energy workout with our health care residents.

Aegis partners with PMMA (Presbyterian Manors of MidAmerica) to perform inpatient and outpatient wellness and physical therapy to help temporary residents safely return home after hospital care.u

Mary and Rachael enjoyed a moment to rest in between their laps around the Oberg Garden “track,” a beautiful, lush, green, shaded walking path.

Bill Thurlow took a walk out to the patio to pick some tomatoes and enjoy a beautiful, sunshiny day with Dana and Laura.

Ruth enjoyed tomato picking with Laura and Dana. She could not wait to get back upstairs to wash the tomatoes and share them with her friends.
