Aberdeen Heights shares customer service survey responses Aberdeen Heights continues to seek customer feedback through monthly telephone surveys. Each month, residents and their representatives are randomly selected to participate in telephone satisfaction surveys conducted by Pinnacle Quality Insight.

The graphic highlights some of the survey results. All scores are given on a 5-point scale, with 5 being the highest score and 1 the lowest score. Between March 2021 and February 2022, Aberdeen Heights residents and their families gave the community high scores in demonstrating dignity and respect, cleanliness, and professional therapy. Residents and their representatives also indicated a high likelihood they would recommend Aberdeen Heights to others.

“I appreciate all of the staff, and the level of care,” said one resident’s family member, adding that they would tell others about the community. “I would tell them that it is the best choice around, as we’ve had experience in other places.”

We greatly value the opinions of our residents and their representatives about the care and services we provide, and we encourage them to participate honestly when contacted by Pinnacle Quality Insight. All state and federal confidentiality laws are met in Pinnacle’s service. u

Do it with Style I will be completing two years doing ministry at PMMA-Lawrence.

Oftentimes, many pastor colleagues ask me if I would go back to being a full-time parish clergy again. I tell them PMMA-Lawrence has not only become my family but also my parish to serve God. When I was young, I used to write poetry. I used to read, memorize, and narrate poems. I still remember poems written by some of my favorite poets like William Wordsworth: “I wandered lonely as a cloud, that floats on high o’er vales and hills, when all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.”

The sunny side of life As warmer weather fills each day, our attention moves more to outdoor activities.

And for many of our residents, that means the chance to get down and dirty in our lovely outdoor gardens.

Thanks to the talent of our green-thumb residents and our dedicated staff, our patios are filled with beautiful flowers and delicious herbs and vegetables.

As we move into the summer months, we’re excited to see the growth that we’ll experience outside - and are thankful to those who spend their time and effort to keep Aberdeen Heights beautiful. u

Going to the dogs Each year, approximately 3.1 million dogs enter animal shelters across the United States.

Aberdeen Heights residents decided to do what they could to help mark National Abandoned Dog Day - April 23rd - by gathering together to make from-scratch doggie treats.

The recipe is simple to make, yet creates a tasty snack for our four-legged friends.

Aside from tackling a meaningful community service project, the biscuit making was a great opportunity for residents and staff to get together for a fun experience. Once the biscuits were ready, we gave them to several staff members, who donated them to local animal shelters.

We might be approaching the dog days of summer, but at least a few of our displaced furry friends will enjoy some heartfelt, homemade goodies while they wait for their new forever home. u

Prep Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 25 mins Total Time: 45 mins Ingredients • 2 - 4 oz pureed meat or vegetable baby food • 2 cups whole wheat flour spelt,

2. In a large bowl, mix the ingredients to form a dough.

3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out to 1/4-inch thick and cut into desired shapes.

Another favorite poetess is Christina Rosette and her poem, Remember me - “Remember me when I am gone away, gone far away into the silent land; when you can no more hold me by the hand.”

Recently, I found a book of poems that I used to read in our PMMA library, “So sing my heart” by Edna Abbot. Edna was a registered nurse. After she retired in 1983, she joined her husband Dearl (VA

chaplain) to fulfill their dream to teach in Bible Colleges overseas in Kenya and Manila. Edna was also fond of writing poetry and self-published books since 1994.

The poem “Do it with Style” spoke volumes to me. Here is an excerpt that Edna wrote titled, “Do it with Style.”

“When you do something for the Lord, please give it all you got.

So, He will know without a doubt that you love Him a lot.

God’s love is all around us, and He’d like for us to show, by words you say and things we do, that we love Him, you know.

I hope to continue to serve the Lord with all of you. As Edna encouraged, I want to DO IT WITH STYLE. I pray you will too.
