What’s Ahead in Medicare? Each year, there are changes that affect Medicare coverage. Find out what’s changing for 2019 and prepare for Medicare Open Enrollment. That’s the theme of Clay Center Presbyterian Manor’s “Just Ask” session October 11. Deanna Turner, River Valley District extension agent and local director of the Senior Health Insurance Counseling for Kansas (SCHICK) program, will talk about upcoming changes and answer your questions about Medicare Part D.
50th anniversary celebration

On July 26, Clay Center Presbyterian Manor staff, residents, family and friends celebrated the community’s 50th anniversary during the annual ice cream social. The celebration will continue throughout the year. Presbyterian Manor’s first residents moved in following completion of the building in June 1968.
A delicious display of desserts was a crowd pleaser.
“Medicare 101” will begin at 2 p.m. October 11 at Clay Center Presbyterian Manor. It is part of Presbyterian Manor’s Just Ask series, a free, ongoing lifelong learning program featuring information from local, regional and national experts on topics of interest to older adults and their families. Clay Center artists among Art is Ageless® masterpiece level winners Three winning artists in Clay Center Presbyterian Manor’s annual Art is Ageless® juried competition will be featured in the 2019 Art is Ageless Calendar produced by Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America.

“Ageless,” a painting by Arlene Works by local winners are automatically entered into a masterpiece Habluetzel level competition with winning art from 16 other PMMA communities. More than 180 entries were received for this year’s masterpiece competition. The winners are featured in the Art is Ageless calendar and greeting cards.
“We are very excited to have these beautiful pieces of art represent Clay Center in the 2019 Art is Ageless Calendar,” said Heather Germann, marketing director. “Each year we are amazed at the artwork that is entered in our local contest as well as those pieces from around our system.” Art is Ageless, open exclusively to people age 65 and older, is a copyrighted program of Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America. For the competition, works must have been completed in the past five years.

Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America’s Art is Ageless program encourages Clay Center Presbyterian Manor residents and other area seniors to express their creativity through its annual competition, as well as art classes, musical and dramatic events, educational opportunities and current events discussions throughout the year.
