Works by local winners are automatically entered into a masterpiece level competition with winning art from 16 other PMMA communities.

More than 190 entries were received for this year’s masterpiece competition.

The winners are featured in the Art is Ageless calendar with pullout postcards and greeting cards.

As the improvement project begins, pavement is broken up to fix drainage issues with the parking lot.

“We are blown away by the artistic talent in our community,” said Sean Page, marketing and admissions director at Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor. “Residents and friends of PMMA’s Art is Ageless program are proving that art, in any form, is an ageless ambition.”

Art is Ageless, open exclusively to people age 65 and older, is a copyrighted program of PMMA. For the competition, works must have been completed in the past five years.

PMMA’s Art is Ageless program encourages Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor residents and other area seniors to explore artistic pursuits.

Art is Ageless encourages seniors to express their creativity through its annual competition, as well as art classes, musical and dramatic events and educational opportunities throughout the year.

Parking lot improvement The parking lot project has been extremely beneficial to our residents and staff. We were able to fix drainage issues, establish more defined parking spots, fix some small holes and bumps, and make parking a “lot” easier for residents.

This improvement project, coupled with our recent front entry project, has created a beautiful, functional area for residents and staff. ◆

It’s the family-like atmosphere at Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor that Neola likes best.

“We are family! We’re family with residents and employees. And that’s a wonderful experience. If anything happens, everybody’s all in. We’ve been blessed with a great community. It’s a wonderful place,” said Neola.

Neola enjoys spending time with her 13 grandchildren, planting flowers in her garden and going to church. Thank you, Neola, for being part of the Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor family. ◆

Zero-deficiency

PMMA (Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America) leadership visited the Arkansas City campus in July to celebrate the community’s recent zero-deficiency survey in health care.

Everyone who attended the party was invited to sign a celebration poster that now hangs at the community.

In addition, PMMA’s leadership served a meal to Arkansas City staff members. ◆
