New Year, new you Are you still in the NewYear mode or mood? The NewYear can mean newness for you. The world looks forward Wayne Rector to a new year, new beginnings, and a new chance to start over. An opportunity to erase the blackboard and have a clean slate, another opportunity to accomplish those long desired goals. We can have those things if we make God and Jesus our friend and partner. The Apostle Paul tells us in 2nd Corinthians 5:17 that ‘if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” Goals are good, and there can be no greater goal than to have a closer relationship with Jesus. Using the Apostle Paul’s “Abiding Principles” of faith, hope, and love we can look NEW YEAR, continued on page 3

Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor honored Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor was recognized with an Emerald Award Level One from Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America for reaching goals in fiscal year 2016, July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2016. The recognition came through PMMA’s Emerald Awards Program, designed to encourage its 17 locations to achieve high levels of resident and employee satisfaction, meet financial goals, build philanthropic support for the organization’s mission and meet marketing goals. There are 11 areas measured for the Emerald Awards. To receive an emerald, a community has to meet its goals in all 11 areas. Arkansas City is the first community to receive an Emerald Award since the program’s inception three years ago. “We are pleased to present Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor with our first Emerald Award. This recognition is a visible sign of the Arkansas City team’s commitment to the mission of PMMA of providing quality senior AWARD, continued on page 2
