‘Believe’

As I look forward to the holiday season, one word is key to this season: “believe.” I truly believe in three key people: Jesus Christ, Santa Bruce Shogren Claus and the employees of the Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America system.

What could be more important than Christmas Day, the day we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ? I grew up in a church in which every Sunday we would state our belief by reciting the Apostles’ Creed. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of theVirgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of CEO, continued on page 2

Local support Good Samaritan Program receives donation Recently, 31st Century owner Gareth McGee presented a donation of $423.18 for Presbyterian Manor’s Good Samaritan Program to Marketing Director Tara Clawson. McGee donates the proceeds from electronic waste recycling to area nonprofits each month. The Good Samaritan Program helps residents who have outlived their savings. McGee recently received the Small Trade Achievement Recognition Award from the Arkansas City Chamber of Commerce for demonstrating outstanding community spirit.
