Aberdeen Village issues Art is Ageless® call for entries Senior artists in the Olathe area are invited to participate in Aberdeen Village’s annual Art is Ageless® exhibit and juried art competition March 26 – April 30, continuing the 40th anniversary celebration for the Art is Ageless program.

COVID-19 vaccine arrives at Aberdeen Village and with it, hope
The dawn of 2021 brought excitement to the halls at Aberdeen Village with the first round of COVID-19 immunizations. Our executive director Tim Allin and Dr. Jeena Eapen were the first two to receive the injection, setting an example for all of us. About 75 employees signed up the first morning and waited patiently for their turn. After administering the dose, each employee was monitored by a nurse for 15 minutes to ensure there were no side effects. Afterwards, they were free to go about their daily business. For the afternoon session, we focused on our health care and assisted living residents. We ended the day with our oldest resident receiving her first dose of the vaccine injection. Frankie Hoffman didn’t say a word, then gave a thumbs up at the end and informed the pharmacist that he VACCINE - continued on page 2
Entries of artistic works will be accepted from any area artist who is 65 years of age or older to exhibit and/or compete for an opportunity to be featured in the Art is Ageless calendar in 2022. Artists may choose to enter the exhibit only. For the competition, works are to have been completed in the past five years (since January 2016).
