PART 1. SOUTHWESTERN LEAGUE CONSTITUTION/BY-LAWS (Revised: July 21, 2015) ARTICLE 1 1.1
This organization shall be known as the Southwestern League of the California Interscholastic Federation, Southern Section (CIF-SS).
ARTICLE 2 2.1
PURPOSE
The purpose of this League shall be to direct and control athletics of the member schools in accordance with the rules and regulations of the CIF-SS, and to foster cooperation in other activities involving these schools.
ARTICLE 3 3.1
NAME
MEMBERSHIP
The membership of the Southwestern League shall be determined by the Southwestern League and the CIF-SS. As of 2010, membership includes: Chaparral Great Oak Murrieta Mesa
3.2
Murrieta Valley Temecula Valley Vista Murrieta
Associate members shall make application to the League for acceptance. Associate members dues are $150.00 per sport.
ARTICLE 4
LEAGUE COUNCIL
4.1
The Principal of each member school or his/her designated representative shall constitute the League Council.
4.2
The League Council shall have the power to pass by-laws (rules and regulations) necessary to conduct business, determine League championships and awards control and promote inter-school League athletics, and any other such matters that are not enumerated, but necessary for the efficient management of the League.
4.3
Voting in League meetings shall be by voice vote unless a member school asks for a roll call vote. Each member school shall have one vote.
4.4
Associate members may vote only on issues that pertain to those sports in which they take part.
4.5
A simple majority of the League Council is necessary to conduct a business meeting.
4.6
Activities Directors will meet with the League Council at the first meeting of the year.
