SCHS Softball TRYOUT INFORMATION 2020-2021 The following information is for all girls interested in trying out for the softball team for the upcoming 2020-2021 season. Tryout Dates There will be tryouts for all players on the following dates. -Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: November 17&18 (1-4pm) 11/19 (3-4:30pm) ATHLETIC CLEARANCE FORMS MUST BE COMPLETED -
The athletic clearance packet must be completed in order to participate in tryouts The athletic clearance packet is completed online: www.sctritons.com – click on Athletics – click on Athletic Clearance. Your athletic physical exam and copy of your medical insurance card must be uploaded to the site as well. This must be done prior to first tryout date.
What will coaches be looking for? -
Student-athletes who possess all the necessary skills to be a high school level softball player including- attitude, athleticism, ball handling, throwing, catching, hitting, defense, and base running. Players will be evaluated by members of the SCHS Softball Coaching Staff Coaches are looking for student-athletes who work hard and are coachable with positive attitudes!
Common Questions 1. Yes, all of the forms need to be completed online before the first tryout date. If you show up with forms, you will be directed to turn them into the athletic director the next morning and tryout at the next date. Again, forms must be completed online. 2. The tryouts will take place at the San Clemente softball fields. 3. You do not have to attend all of the tryout dates. Yes, it is smart to go to all of the tryout dates. 4. Fall athletes that are interested in participating for the SCHS softball team need to be there for tryouts. 5. The list of athletes who made the team will be posted online on the softball website approximately 24 hours after the last tryout 6. All those that make the softball team will be placed in the 6 th period softball class for the spring semester and will be expected to attend the class in January. If you are in a Fall Sport, you will come out after your season has concluded. 7. Attendance at all games/practices is mandatory.
