RITON BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL Dear Parents: The upcoming Boys Volleyball Tryouts for the 2020 season will be taking place in the SCHS gym during 0 period from 6:30-7:30 am on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 5th & 6th, 2019. All boys who did not participate on any of last year’s teams will be asked to tryout during those two days. All boys who are interested in trying-out must have their completed physical forms turned into the office before the tryouts begin. Potential team members will be evaluated on their volleyball skills, athleticism, and attitude/coachability, and will be evaluated on a 5 point scale by the SCHS Boys Volleyball Coaching Staff during the course of the tryouts. Boys need to be dressed in SCHS PE or SCHS athletic gear; no “Club” volleyball gear will be permitted for the tryouts! In addition, each student-athlete must be academically eligible (2.0 or higher GPA) to participate at the start of the spring semester. Returning lettermen will continue to be evaluated during 5th period Volleyball Class for the remainder of the semester, and will be eligible to be placed on the post-tryout rosters once they have completed the physical forms and have academic clearance. Following the tryouts, players and parents will be notified of the team selections, and a mandatory parent meeting will be scheduled before Thanksgiving break.
