HUSKY FOOTBALL CENTENNIAL HIGH SCHOOL

Husky Parent or Guardian: In the last 4 months we have experienced unprecedented events that have changed the world. These events are fluid and continue to evolve. I have been waiting to send an update until we had some concrete information to share. On Monday July 20th, CIF announced that the football season will be played in January with the first varsity game being played on January 8th. Our practice for the football season will begin on December 9th. The football season being moved to January will have an impact on our Christmas break and our Spring break vacation opportunities.

What will happen this fall semester is still unclear until we get notification that it is safe to return to classes on campus. As you are aware, we are beginning the school year on August 10th with some choosing virtual and some choosing remote learning and then transitioning into returning to campus in some capacity. When that happens, safety protocols will be in place and adhered to by all of us. From the football standpoint, we will treat fall like our typical Spring practice which will include weights, speed training, meetings, and practice.

What can be done in the meantime?

1) The athletes continue to train on their own using the weight workouts and speed training that is posted weekly on our website: centennialhuskyfootball.com 2) Complete your physical and turn it in online 3) Complete and email the Donation Option Form by August 15th 4) Enter your 20 cell numbers for our Blast Fundraising campaign 5) Get off to a great start in your classes when remote learning begins I hope this gives you some answers on what to expect, but of course this is subject to change with these volatile conditions. Stay healthy and I look forward to getting back to school and football in the near future.

Donation Option Form Step-by-Step instructions: 1. Donation Option Form – Form only is due by 8/25/20 a. You must chose to either Fundraise using Blast Athletics or “Buy Out”. i. Blast Athletics Fundraising; 1. Fundraising donation goal of $460. Due by 12/9/20.

2. Blast Athletics overview will be presented at our Zoom meeting on 8/15 at 7pm. More information to come.

3. If you do not have the app, download the app “Blast Athletics”.

Both athlete and at least 1 parent need the app 4. Athletes must enter 20 good contacts (either text or email).

Fundraising campaign launch date is “To Be Announced”. You have the opportunity to add or remove names prior to launch.

OR ii. One time donation (Cash Buy out); 1. Donation goal of $400. Your donations will be accepted on our website.

Regardless of the option you choose, once you have donated $100 you will receive 10 Husky Football Discount Cards that you can sell to family and friends! Enjoy discounts at local business and help re-build our community!

We are 100% volunteer run organization (including the booster board members) this is why we need your participation!

Husky football requires a member from each family to participate (volunteer) in 2 events in the 2020 football season. Each event will be no more than 4 hours.
