Roadgubinge

One of the most beautiful stretches of beach in the world. Cable Beach takes its name from the cable which linked Broome with what is present day Indonesia. Stingers may be present during the months from November to May. Always check by asking the Broome Visitor Centre before swimming.

Broome owes its early beginnings to the discovery in 1861 of the giant pearl oyster Pinctada Maxima which led to the establishment of Broome’s pearling industry.

Believed to be those of a carnivorous species that lived 120 million years ago, the tracks are embedded in sandstone at the base of the cli and can only be seen at low tides of 2.16m for one set of prints and 1.46m or lower for three sets of prints. PLEASE TAKE CARE AS YOU DO NEED TO CLIMB DOWN THE CLIFF FACE TO VIEW THE FOOTPRINTS.
